Seven Sites That Can SAVE BIG!

5:31 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

This article was forwarded to me my BFF and I thought that I would pass it on to all of you. With Christmas rapidly approaching getting the best bang for your buck is inevitably on everyones mind. I know from personal experience that when I buy something online I am always wondering if I really got the best deal or not. I want to know if I got all the best coupon codes and if I can get free shipping. Well there is an article from Shopsmartmag.org that gives its readers the seven best websites to check out to shop smarter. Here is the list in a nutshell :

Buzzillions.com. The user-review site has more than 3 million consumer reviews on everything from electronics to cars and lower-ticket items like cosmetics and shoes. ShopSmart likes this site better than its rival Epinions.com because it offers a broad and changing list of keywords to click on for searching. The magazine also suggests sorting your search by the lowest ratings first to get the scoop on what not to buy.
Ebates.com. After registering your e-mail address, you can shop at more than 900 retailers. After checking out, the site credits your account with a rebate, which can be as high as 26 percent, although most are in the 1 to 4 percent range. You can also donate your rebate to charity. ShopSmart suggests clicking on the "Daily Double" tab, where rebates for one retailer are doubled each day.
Freeshipping.org. Choose a product category or a specific store to get the lowdown on free-shipping offers. Most have minimum purchase amounts.
Heyitsfree.net. This blog was started by 25-year-old Ryan Eubanks, who scours the Web daily to find free offers. You can search by product category or check out a long list of other freebie sites.
Pricegrabber.com. There are more than two dozen price-comparison engines, but ShopSmart liked this one for its ability to calculate the total cost of an item, including shipping and tax. You can search by category and user ratings.
Retailmenot.com. There are many sites that gather online coupons, but weeding through expired or invalid codes can take time. ShopSmart says the codes on this site are reliable, and they like the comments section that lets users share their money-saving tips.
Shopittome.com. This site is for the true shopaholic. After choosing from a list of clothing, shoe and accessory brands, entering sizes and registering your e-mail address, you'll receive a daily or weekly e-newsletter with news about sales you're interested in. ShopSmart suggests signing up to receive the e-mail on Fridays, when most online retailers mark down clothing.

If you have any puzzle pieces this is for you!

11:42 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Okay so Christmas is coming up and I got this idea from my son's preschool for this cute craft. This is a really cute wreath that you can make any size that you want, either a small ornament or a wall decoration. Plus it will be a great gift to give to Grandma and Grandpa that they will treasure for years to come.

Here is what you will need: Recycled Puzzle Pieces (if you dont have any lying around you can buy some at a thrift store or even the dollar store), Green Spray Paint, Red Paint, Craft glue and a Ribbon for hanging

Start by laying out your puzzle pieces on some newspaper. Spray paint them with a thin layer of green spray paint. Apply a few light coats till the pieces are well covered. Lay the pieces over the top of each other to form the wreath. Glueing each piece as you go. To make a bigger wreath lay the pieces 2-3 pieces wide. Using the red paint place drops of red paint onto each piece to represent holly berries. Glue on a ribbon bow and a small thin cord for hanging. Use some glitter to line the edges for a extra festive feel.

My son's preschool adapted this idea and made it a little easier by using a paper plate and cut out the middle. Then they glued the painted puzzle pieces on the plate edge in layers and just put a bow in the center. It was super cute for a 4 year old and I loved it when I saw it. I hope others will love this idea just like I did.

Flushable Diapers? What...?

12:57 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Okay, so I have to admit these diapers caught my attention. Not because I have some hippy love vibe to save the planet but because I really hate diaper pails - alot. I have two in diapers right now so the smells that come out of one of those is at the very least, scary. So, when I came across these flushable diapers I had to learn more about it. They are called G Diapers. These are cloth covers that act like underwear, with a liner and flushable inserts. Basically when your little one does the deed you only have to remove the insert and swish it around with their "swish stick" in the toilet and then flush. Replace the liner and voila no stinky diaper and if anything gets on the cloth or the insert then you can wash them. I have to say I have been against cloth diapers in the past purely because of my own selfish EEEWWW reasons but after watching the video it really doesn't seem that bad to go this way instead of my old disposable stand by. The cute little cloth pants run you about $19 each and the snap in liner run $5 for two. The flushable refills depending on the size go anywhere from $15-$52 depending on how much you need to get. In my opinion this is a great option but still a little pricey for me. Please let me know if you have tried these and what you think. I have included a link to the G Diaper site so you check out the flushing video tutorial for yourself.

Cutie Patootie Socks!

6:26 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Okay, so I know that sometimes I get a little too carried away with really cute girl stuff considering that I dont have one but I think that these socks are the cutest thing! I have the boys Johnny Sneaker version but these Mary Jane socks really makes me wish that I had a girl to dress up all pretty n stuff. I get so many compliments on these socks when my son wears them. The lace at the top really is the icing on the cake that makes everyone ooh and ahh. These are socks by Trumpette. They have soooo soooo many choices of cute socks, like camo, cowboy/girl, ballarina, Disney, jungle, sneakers, pixies - you name it. My favorites are the Mary Janes for the girls and the Johnny Sneakers for the boys. They run anywhere from $17 to $25 for six pairs. You can find them on tons of sites. Lots of boutiques sell them. I found them the cheapest on Amazon.

Something to Drool Over

10:28 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

A common theme these days for me is wiping drool from my 4 month olds mouth. It is seriously spewing like a faucet! During this process he continually slimes his paci and its ribbon. I have finally found something that will soothe him and keep his clothes dry. Another great Etsy find, a Paci Bib by Chuli Buli Julie. It is handcrafted with 100% cotton on the front and soft chenile on the back. It is reversable with velcro enclosures. I liked this one with flames for my little guy. The cost is only $14 with $2 for shipping. To check out some other cute designs visit Chuli Buli Julie.

A Wipee Case Worth Talking About

10:13 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I really love these Wipee Cases made by Chubby Baby on Etsy. In case you all have not heard of Etsy it is like Ebay but for handmade crafts. Chubby Baby is one of my favorite stores that I have found. The Wipee Cases are padded and covered with hip and trendy quilting fabrics. They also have an elastic band on the bottom to attach a diaper to for on the go quick changes. I love the designs and just the idea in general. These are so cute and fashionable you wont be embarrassed to walk around with one. Each case goes for $13.50,which is a steal, most go for $20. To see this and other cute designs please check out Chubby Baby.

Check Out Dr. Toy and Gain Valuable Insight On Your Next Toy Purchase

9:17 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Today I visited the Dr. Toy Website. This is not a new site and has been around since 1995, but I had never checked it out until today. This site is stuffed with tons of information about childrens toys that have been reviewed by Stevanne Auerbach, PhD, AKA - Dr. Toy. She has 30 years experience and is one of the world's leading experts on play, toys and childrens products. Dr. Toy has written 15 books and several articles about play and toys. On this website you can view her Best Toy Picks, Best 25 for $10, Best of 2008, Smart Toys and Ask Dr. Toy to name just a few pages. So this year before you do your holiday shopping you can check out what Dr. Toy has to say about the toys that your kids most want for Christmas and get an expert opinion. There is a ton of info on this site so be prepared to be occupied for awhile. This site is super extensive so if you have a specific toy in mind there is also a product search at the top of the page to cut down your search time. Check out Dr. Toy and let me know what you think!

The Best Belt Ever!!

3:42 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I have secretly wished forever that someone would solve the problem of the huge belt buckle sticking out under a great shirt. To me there is nothing worse than this ugly bulge acting as a signal flare to my most embarrassing feature of my body. Finally my prayers have been answered by the Invisibelt! This is the coolest thing, a clear or noir belt that has special clasp that lies completely flat. True that a clear belt may not be the cutest but if I wanted people to see my belt, the buckle bulge thing would not be a problem for me ;) It comes in sizes 2-14 and also plus size up to 4x. Another neat feature is now when you are bending over to pick up your kids or their toys you won't have to worry that you are showing your hiney to everyone. The Invisibelt sets you back $20 but I personally can't wait to get one.

Is There a Doctor in the House?

10:29 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Today I found a super cute website called Baby Scrubs. They have all kinds of cute scrubs for newborn babies up to toddlers. Each set of scrubs comes with a gel pen to write in the babies birth info. They also have biker scrubs, racer scrubs and kids scrubs. I thought that these were adorable and would make such a cute gift! The scrubs are available in jade green, blue or pink and sell for $25. Visit their website at www.babyscrubs.com to see for yourself. Also, when baby outgrows these cute duds they can be put on a teddybear or you could frame them for a great baby keepsake.

Check out these Too Cool for School Tees!

7:03 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Today I discovered the Punky Mae website. Punky Mae specializes in quality message tees. My favorites I have pictured are the Kindergarten Rocks and A Timeout is in My Future. These shirts are a little pricy at $32 but have been featured in some great celebrity swag bags as well as KidsLA magazine. All shirts are 100% cotton and most are unisex which is awesome for the hand-me-down aspect whether you have boys or girls. Even though I think that they are pretty cool I asked my kindergartner if he wanted a Kindergarten Rocks shirt and he said no, that he would rather have a Kindergarten is Awesome shirt! Go Figure! See these and other tees at the Punky Mae site.

What every new mom needs!

10:35 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Every new mom, in my opinion, should have a Bebe Au Lait Hooter Hider. This is a necessity if you plan on nursing your baby or if you need to pump but are concerned about your privacy. Basically it is thin fabric adorned with a strap to wear around it around your neck, apron style. I wish that I had one of these with my first two children. I never mastered the receiving blanket technique because my kids always wanted to pull it down, and I was terrified of flashing my boobs in public. Now I have no fear about nursing or pumping because I know that my boobs will stay hidden from the public eye. Here is a link to the Bebe Au Lait site. Each Hooter Hider (love the name by the way) is about $40. Money well spent in my opinion. If you are not looking to spend this much you can always check CraigsList for a used one or even Ebay. One of my top finds with baby number three for sure!

For young girl products I have access to several relatives, good friends and neighbors with daughters that will be happy to give me their honest opinion of the product. In addition to children I also have several teens in our family, young men and ladies, that can offer input for teen based products.

My reviews may include pictures from your website as well as pictures of my own family using the product. At times I may want to include a video of my family using the product if I think that it would be a great addition to the post.

All featured reviews will receive one free month of 125x125 ad space upon purchasing an advertising package. Please let me know if you are interested in this option.

All feature posts will be listed under the appropriate heading on the navigation bar. For example, Chic Mom Finds, Chic Baby Finds, etc... My name is Kimberly and I have been blogging since November of 2008. At Pretty Pink Momma I like to share chic finds for moms, families and the home. I am a SAHM of three very energetic little boys. I love to blog about my daily life and all the silly things that my kids and husband do. As an avid product reviewer I am always on the lookout for fabulous finds and amazing deals that I can share with my readers. I have been blessed to work with several companies on product reviews including Nutrisystem, General Mills, P&G Brands, Kleenex, Target as well as many other popular products and brands. I am also a brand embassador for The View, Kleenex, Tropicana, Rice Krispies and Mom Sends the Message.
