Not Me Monday - Crying it Out

1:24 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Emilio has come to point in his little life that I dread the most. I call it the "your old enough to sleep through the night and comfort yourself" stage. Which unfortunately for me he has to "cry it out" to get himself to sleep. Now, I would never just decide spur of the moment on Saturday night that tonight is the night to "cry it out", nope, not me. My moment of brilliance was not brought on by my complete lack of sleep the night before. Or by the fact that I simply did not have the patience to deal with waking up every two to six hours. I would never force my husband to stay with me and sleep on the floor of Emilio's room while he "cried it out" for over an hour. OVER AN HOUR. I also did not allow myself to get a little sleepy and really start to drown out Emilio's cries, not me. I wouldn't feel the slightest bit guilty about that either, nope, not me.

Last night went a little smoother, I must say. Emilio only "cried it out" for about fifteen minutes. But then he settled on a new tactic. Staring at me on the floor, just waiting for me to make the slightest bit of movement that would prove I was still awake. I would never pretend to sleep to avoid the stare of my needy child, not me. After about ten minutes of silence I began to wonder just what was going on, because I was certain it wasn't sleep. I carefully rolled over in sleep like pattern on the floor and peered up into the crib. There was my sweet Emilio, sitting up against the back of the crib staring at me, or at least in my direction. I would never just continue to fake sleep, and wonder what exactly is going through that little head of his, not me. Another five minutes goes by and I hear a little bit of noise. I gently raise my head and discover my little guy, still sitting up, bobbing and weaving his head - fighting with all his might to stay in an upright position. I would never laugh at my child while I watched his head bop up and down over and over again, because that would be cruel, nope not me. Finally when I was done laughing about how silly he looked I took the risk and laid him down.

Finally, asleep at last.

Jump Start Pet Rescue for the Wii Review

1:38 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Box Cover

My boys absolutely love playing the Wii. I have to admit, I like it too! Their favorite games have to do with exploring worlds and beating levels. Oh, how they love to beat levels! Any levels! Oscar goes around the house telling me how he couldn't do something that I asked him to do simply because he needed to beat the level first. What level is he talking about? I have no idea what levels have to do with brushing your teeth or getting dressed but Oscar certainly has it all planned out in his head. I guess I'll never know whats going on inside that six year old brain of his! Seeing as the Wii rules as one of our favorite daily activities I was thrilled when Jump Start offered my boys the chance to try out their new game for the Wii, JumpStart Pet Rescue.

In a previous post I had my boys review the JumpStart world on JumpStart.com. They loved playing the game so I was pretty sure that a similar game offered for the Wii, which is their favorite gaming system, would be a total hit. Boy, was I right! The day that the game came in the mail the boys couldn't wait to open it and see what it was all about. Oscar played the game first. Getting used to the Wii remote navigation was simple and it took him no time at all to figure it out. He had a great time creating his Jumpee character. He loves changing the looks during his game play too. During the course of the game new outfit and body options are unlocked. Benji loved creating his own unique Jumpee as well. In fact, one day of play they dedicated the entire time to just switching the characters clothes and attributes.

I love that this game plays similiar to other Wii favorites like Mario Galaxy and Mario Party but is educational. When the boys play this game that they have a ton of fun discovering new areas of the game and rescuing their pets. JumpStart Pet Rescue has two different modes of play, Story Mode or Explore Mode. In Story Mode the boys find the missing pets by completing missions and unlocking storybooks. In the Explore Mode you can visit any part of the JumpStart Pet Rescue to play any part of the game. In total JumpStart Pet Rescue has 30+ games and adventures, 50+ learning lessons and 75+ fundamental skills for the boys to learn. The skill levels are perfect for my boys because the ages that this game is geared toward are for 3-6 year olds. This game has been rated by the ESRB, the Entertainment Software Rating Board, and given the Early Childhood rating. JumpStart Pet Rescue is the first educational game on the Wii for this age range.

Because this game is directed towards children that most likely do not know how to read the game tells the child what they need to do. Games directed for older children always have subtitles that need to be read. One of my biggest pet peeves is having to stop what I am doing every three seconds to read to the boys the directions that they are supposed to follow. JumpStart Pet Rescue tells the boys what to do, which in turn prompts an entirely different skill for them - LISTENING. This is one of my favorite parts of the game. If they didn't listen to the directions I make them replay it and listen to the directions.

I have to say that now that both of the boys have had a chance to play I can honestly say that they really enjoy it. Oscar loves the feeling of accomplishment that he receives after he masters a level. They both love rescuing their pets and they loved that they had the option to choose different pets. My biggest concern when they play together though is that they only play their own game slot and not their brothers. Benji has a tendency to ask Oscar to complete levels when things get too difficult for him. I want to make sure that they are both unlocking levels at their own pace so I can monitor more closely where Benji's skill set especially in comparison to Oscar. Because we are a family with two children that love to play they only thing that disappointed about JumpStart Pet Rescue is the fact that it is not two player. The boys love to play together and games that are two player are much easier to play only because they each feel that they are getting adequate time to play and are not losing interest while they are waiting for their turn. Or worse, fighting with the other player because its not their turn. All in all though I would say that this game had been really fun to watch the boys play and I know that they love it too.

Below are some screen shots of the game so you can see just how vivid the characters and the game play is in comparison to other games for the Wii.

Photobucket

Here is a video of Oscar enjoying his turn playing JumpStart Pet Rescue. As you can see he is really concentrating on doing a great job. In this video Oscar has just found the Pet Shop and is trying to teach his dog tricks. The middle three or four minutes of the video he is a little frustrated because he couldn't get the remote in the right direction to get his dog to double roll over. He had a hard time listening and watching the directions on the screen, but figured it out pretty quickly. Once he figures out how it works he takes his pet exploring with him. He is thrilled that his pet goes with him and that he can play fetch with him.

JumpStart Pet Rescue will be available for purchase on September 1st to Walmart and September 2nd to Best Buy, Sam's Club, Fry's and all other retail stores. You can get a copy for your family for only $39.99. To learn more about the the game and its features you can visit JumpStart.com.

**************************************
You can win a copy of JumpStart Pet Rescue!

JumpStart is having a giveaway on their blog for 25 copies of JumpStart Pet Rescue. For your chance to win a copy for yourself the entry is easy. Simply comment on the giveaway post with a story of your own as to how you have covertly convinced your kids to do something that they refused and they did it - whether they knew it or not! You know, sometimes as moms we come up with silly ways to get our children to do something that they really don't want to do. I know that I have been known a time or two to tell my kids that if they wanted to grow up big and strong like Daddy they had to finish their plate or they might stay that size forever! It may sound silly but they got really serious and made sure that they ate every last bite! Well, you get the picture. Be sure to visit the JumpStart blog and tell your story for a chance at one of the 25 copies that will be given out. Or, better yet, you can also read what other moms have said to their kids and pick up a trick or two! Good luck!

Aloha Friday - Beauty Tips

11:32 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

What is one of your best beauty tips?

I love to use mineral makeup and I just recently learned a great way to cover up my dark under eye circles with it. I mix my favorite mineral cover up with a fantastic under eye cream and it creates an awesome concealer that dries with a flawless finish. Even my husband noticed that my dark circles were not that dark after using the makeup. Just the fact that he noticed anything is a miracle! So, that is my tip for all of you! What is one of your best beauty tips?

Wordless Wednesday - Giraffe Lovin'

12:45 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

When we were in San Francisco we took a day trip to the Six Flags Discovery Park. We checked out some of the cool animals in the park. Giraffes were among them, however we were shocked and apauled at just how horny and gross these giraffes were. So naturally I became a giraffe gay porn photographer. Enjoy! Or run away in horror, you decide... Just be glad that I couldn't get a clear shot of the two males drinking the female's urine - as it was coming out!

Your Welcome!

MJM Books Review and Giveaway! Personalized Books Made Just for Your Kid!

2:38 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Now that Oscar is 6, he is learning to read. At times it can be pretty frustrating for him. He wants to learn so badly but gets way too upset when he reads the words incorrectly. As his mom I want him to love reading and enjoy his knew found skills. Keeping him interested in it long enough for him to learn much more than he all ready knows is the hard part. That's why I was thrilled when I received the opportunity to review one of the personalized story books created by MJM Books.

MJM Books, founded by three innovative brothers - Mike, Jeff and Matt, publishes unique children's books that are loved by parents and kids alike. MJM Books has three creatively different stories to choose from and they all star your child! What makes MJM Books stand apart from other personalized books is that not only can you customize the character's name but the character's looks too. I love that the child will truly feel that the story was made for them because the main character is really designed with them in mind. Below is a picture of Oscar as compared the character in the book we chose.

One thing that I thought definitely made the book stand out was special customized message that you can write for the child. I gave Oscar the book that I chose for him, A Day at the Park, for his 6th birthday. I was able to write him a special birthday message so he will always remember why the book was given to him and it will hopefully become a special keepsake for him. Below is a picture of Oscar reading his birthday message.

One thing that really impressed me about the MJM Books site is the excellent customer service. When I was ordering Oscar's book I made a mistake in the message. Instead of "Happy 6th Birthday Oscar Love Mommy and Daddy" I wrote, "Happy 6th Happy Birthday Oscar Love Mommy and Daddy". I must have been tired because I didn't even notice the mistake when I proof read it before placing my order. I noticed it directly after my order was placed. Which of course sent me into a panic that I screwed up this really cool gift. I emailed customer service with my order# and told them of my mistake. Shortly thereafter I received an email from them telling me that it was not a problem and they would correct my mistake. Not only was I impressed with the level of customer service I had received but very thankful that is was a simple fix.

As I mentioned, the book I chose for Oscar was A Day at the Park. This book is about a wild day of imagination and pretend while playing on the jungle gym at the park. It is only one of three books available from MJM Books. The other two are If I Were Big and What Animal Are You? If I Were Big is about a child growing so big they can even be seen from outerspace. What Animal Are You? is about a child discovering the animal within making some new friends along the way. All three of the vibrant books are full of creativity and illustrated by different authors, ensuring that each story is kept artistically unique from the others. You can learn more about each illustrator and their style when visiting the MJM Books website.

The greatest selling point for these special books is that you can virtually flip through and read each story page for page before purchasing. You can see first hand exactly what each story will look like and imagine your child as the star of the story. That way you can decide which story fits your child's personality the best. This was my absolute favorite part about checking out the MJM Books site. I love Oscar's book so much that I want to get a story for each of my other boys. I also think that this is going to be my new "go to" gift for all children I know that are old enough to enjoy being the star of their very own story.

I loved this book but it really wasn't up to me, it was up to Oscar. We have read it together several times now and he loves it too. He enjoys reading the birthday message and I can tell that it makes him feel special. He is working hard to learn the bigger words in the story that aren't as familiar to him as the sight words he all ready knows. This book has been a great tool for him to push himself while learning to read. A definite thumbs up from both of us!

I encourage any parent, grandparent or anyone that has a child that is special to them, to check out the personalized story books that MJM Books has to offer. These books would be a fantasic birthday, Christmas or just because gift. It is incredibly easy to customize a story for any child. I found the site super easy to navigate and the checkout process a breeze. Customize a story for your child for only $15.95 today!

MJM Books is graciously offering one lucky Pretty Pink Momma reader a story book of their very own!

How to Enter: Visit MJM Books and flip through each story. Comment back on this post and tell me which story is your favorite and why. This giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only.

Tracey Singer's Sweets 'n' Treats CD Review and Giveaway

10:11 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

If I haven't told you before, but I'm sure I've mentioned it, Benji loves music and couldn't live without his CD collection. I am always on the hunt for great tunes that he can listen to that well, quite frankly, I can too. Because if he likes something I will hear it all the time while he is playing DJ, carrying his boombox all over the house. Honestly I am pretty over all the really preschool-y, preschool songs if you know what I mean. My adult brain can only handle so much. So any kids music that I find appealing, interesting or just plain fun - I'm down for. I was really excited when I was given the opportunity to review Tracey Singer's debut kids' CD, Sweets 'n' Treats.

Tracey Singer
, a San Diego based singer/songwriter, gave up his career at a Fortune 100 company to become a stay at home Dad to four children, all under the age of nine! “Once my first child was born I knew I wanted to be with her,” says Singer, “and frankly music has always won over any other pursuits.” Tracy Singer's love of music, combined with the love for his children, brought about a musical career shift for the this amazing Dad. That shift was to the world of children's music. Even with the challenge of taking care of four small children he still managed to write the songs for his debut album Sweets 'n' Treats. As a mother of three small children I find this to be an amazing feat!

Sweets 'n' Treats is produced by two time grammy nominee, Buck Howdy. The CD is comprised of 13 fun and silly songs aimed at teaching children how to find the humor in everyday situations. His musical style is very eclectic and song styles range from old style rock n roll to folk artsy to pop/rock to soft ballads. He introduces us to characters in his songs like Foxy Joe, Hard Hearted Haley, and my favorite Mall Mom. Mall Mom is about a fictional Mom that hangs out all the time at the mall with her daughter trying to be just like her. Other songs like Camping Trip, focus on a camping trip that has gone wild. Here is the video for the Camping Trip song so you can see how comedic this musical talent really is.

I think that Tracey Singer is such a great children's music artist! The songs are interesting and fun for parents and kids alike. Benji plays his Sweets 'n' Treats CD all the time and I really don't mind it at all. In fact, it makes me laugh too! Oscar and Benji both enjoy jamming to these tunes and this CD is definitely in the rotation for our family singalongs.

To hear a sampling of the wonderful songs on this CD you can check them out on Tracey Singer's website. If you would like to purchase this great CD it is available online at www.TraceySinger.com, cdbaby.com. amazon.com and iTunes.

One lucky Pretty Pink Momma reader will win their very own autographed copy of Sweets 'n' Treats!

To Enter: Visit www.TraceySinger.com and listen to the sampling of the songs that are on the Sweets 'N' Treats CD. Comment back on this post telling me which song either you, your child or both liked the best. This giveaway open to US and Canadian residents only.

Aloha Friday! Famous Boyfriends

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

Who is your celebrity boyfriend, or if your a slut like me, boyfriends?

I must admit that I have a few celebrity crushes. My hubs knows that I lovingly refer to them as my boyfriends in conversation. There are a few old stand bys, like John Stamos and Jerry O'Connell. Both of whom either were or are married to Rebecca Romijn, so needless to say I hate her. However, my favorite celebrity boyfriend is Ryan Reynolds. He is so hot and I fell in love with him way back when he was costarring in that lame tv show, 2 Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place. A super close second is Joel McHale from the Soup on E! I love his sense of humor and it completely won me over. So, that is why my question this week is, who is your celebrity boyfriend?

Wordless Wednesday - Arial Views

I hate flying except for one thing, the views. It really is cool to see things from so high in the sky. I took some pictures of when we were leaving San Francisco so I could show the boys.

Not Me Monday

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I was not totally happy that Mad Men returned on Sunday night! I have not been anticipating watching it forever. I was not really annoyed that I got totally interrupted and could not sit down and watch it in its entirety. Between my kids and my husband I never get to see anything when it airs and in full, nope, not me. I did not get in an argument with the hubby over what was more important, making him pico di gallo or watching Mad Men. I was not irritated that I had to do both at the same time. But what I did catch was fabulous! I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store.

The biggest news of all is that Emilio is finally walking! He has been able to take a few steps here or there, but as of this weekend he really got his balance and his footing so he is able to cruise everywhere. I should have been, but wasn't prepared at all for how amazing it is to see the sparkle in his eyes as he makes those strides across the room. I was not completely beaming with joy to see how proud he was of himself, nope not me! I am definitely not in need of shopping for some new shoes for the little guy, I would never put that off until the last minute. I would never take him to McDonalds and torture him by letting him watch his older brothers run around and then confine him to the small bench and walkthrough area because I did not want him rubbing and crawling all over the germ infested floor, not me. I would not be surprised if that floor had not been cleaned and sanitized in years!

Aloha Friday - Mad Men

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

Do you watch Mad Men?

As some of you know, I am a self proclaimed TV junkie. I am so excited about the return of Mad Men this Sunday night on AMC. My Dad got me into watching it and I think that this show is freaking brilliant! I can't wait to see where the storylines start. That's why my question to you is, do you watch Mad Men?

ebeanstock Melissa and Doug Large Knob Puzzle Review

12:03 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

A few weeks ago I was asked to test toys for a company called ebeanstalk. You may remember that in previous posts I have raved over their site. They sent out a number of baby toys and toys for 1 year olds to toy experts (moms) for their review. Through reviews such as mine, this helps ebeanstalk select great learning toys. The toy they sent was the First Shapes Jumbo Knob Puzzle from Melissa and Doug who makes lots of wooden toys.

I was thrilled to receive this puzzle. I have other wooden puzzles but none with the jumbo knobs so I was anxious to see how Emilio would like it. I know that once I saw it I immediately loved it! This Melissa and Doug puzzle is crafted by hand, one of the reasons that I love this brand in particular so much. The shapes were large and easy to recognize even though they were cleverly disquised in the shape of a house. I also loved that it was designed using primary colors, so I could easily teach Emilio the basic shapes and colors at the same time. I thought it was awesome but Emilio's opinion is what mattered most.

As soon as he got his sticky little fingers on it he went to town grabbing the jumbo knobs and removing and replacing all the pieces over and over again. I love that this puzzle is wooden. One reason being that Emilio's other favorite thing to do is bite on the peices, because he is teething like crazy. With other puzzles the material becomes soggy and can become a choking hazard. This puzzle is made of wood and built to last! The knobs are tightly secured to the puzzle pieces with a single large screw. Emilio adores this puzzle and beams with pride each time he fits a puzzle piece in its proper place. He also loves playing with the pieces individually and taking them around the house with him wherever he may go. Below are some pictures of Emilio enjoying his puzzle.

Bottom line, I would definitely reccommend the First Shapes Jumbo Knob Puzzle for any one year old. It is a fun and easy to use learning toy that will withstand the test of time as it gets passed on from child to child. For other great one year old or Melissa and Doug toys go checkout ebeanstock today!

Wordless Wednesday - Oscar's 6!

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I really wanted to post this last Wednesday but the Hilton charged for WiFi so I voted against it. It was Little Oscar's 6th birthday on Sunday the 2nd, the day before we left for San Francisco. Here are some of the pics!

You would not believe how badly all the kids were arguing about who got the cake toppers!

I love how Oscar is giving the thumbs up to his friends over his presents.

I thought that it would be fun to take some pics of the party fun too. They loved the bounce house and the huge jungle gym with a slide.

For More Wordless Wednesday check out Five Minutes for Mom.

Eden Fantasys Review and Giveaway

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

*This blog post has links that will take you to an adult website*

As you may know, I just got back from a business trip with my hubby in San Francisco. It was definitely nice to get away from the kids and regain some much needed couple time. Not to mention the fact that my parents had been staying with us for the last month, privacy was much needed and well deserved. Not that when my parents aren't there that we get a ton of privacy. At least once during the night I am putting one child or another back into their own bed. So, naturally I was thrilled to finally have my husband all to myself, sort-of, for the week. And to boost the enthusiasm Eden Fantasys gave us the chance to review the Shunga Tenderness and Passion Kit to kick things off in the right direction. Finally a product that my hubby is thrilled to review!

The Shunga Tenderness and Passion Kit is a great collection of sensual love products, and comes beautifully packed in a box with Shunga painting on it. The kit includes a 4 oz. bottle of Strawberries and Champaign flavored erotic massage oil blended with real oils and Ylang Ylang, a 3.5 oz bottle of glycerin based Strawberries and Champaign flavored aphrodisiac oil, a silk bag with Sweet Snow edible powder with the same flavor and a feather for tickling and teasing. This kit is one of the top ten kits sold at Eden Fantasys and has a five star rating based on votes from reviewers and customers. You can get yours for $47.99.

If you are a little shy about what the postman might think, not to worry. The package came in a standard box with a generic web merchant address. You won't have to worry about checking the mail in front of the neighbors and them getting a sneak peek into your after hours activities! You might have to make up a story about whats in the box though, if your neighbors are anything like mine - they'll ask.

Anyways, while sequestered away in the comfy confines of our hotel room, we were able to try out the Shunga Tenderness and Passion Kit for ourselves. Let me tell you, I love a great back massage and the massage oils in this kit made it so much better! I think it even inspired the Hubs to work a little harder at giving the massage. The oil is scented and it is a really nice texture. The scent is not super strong but you can definitely smell the flavors. The Sweet Snow Edible Powder is great too. The feather that came with the kit was super soft. Don't worry people, I won't go into any details - needless to say we had some fun :) *Thank you Eden Fantasys!*

Eden Fantasys seriously is the most creative, detail oriented adult toy website that I have ever seen. They seriously have everything that you could possibly ever want or need when it comes to sex. And I am not just talking about the products and sexy lingerie, which by the way I would love to review. They have a live support team that can help you with any question you have about your order or any of the products they offer which you can access by clicking on the tab at the top labeled Expert Help. One of the best features is a review section for the items, rated on a five star system, so you can get an idea from real people that have used the products, as well as the experts, if they are worth trying out. Eden Fantasys also offers a sex community update section with interviews, reviews and more. Also featured is an online Magazine, Sexis, featuring some really awesome articles that are definitely good reading material. The Bloggess is my fave contributor, if you haven't read her stuff you are missing out! Can you believe that they even offer their customers a wish list? You can pick your favorite stuff out and send your wish list to anyone that you want! This just gave a me a great idea for the next time my mom asks me what I want for my birthday... This will surely freak her out, ha ha. With all this great info on top of the fast, discreet, $5.95 flat rate standard shipping not to mention free returns and exchanges, Eden Fantasys has to be one of the most thorough customer oriented sites that I have seen in awhile.

I have to say though that I think that the best thing that Eden Fantasys offers its customers is their forum. Here you can read what everyone else has been talking about, asking about, etc... Let's just say that when it comes to the arena of sex toys I have no idea what I am talking about. I really don't have a lot of time to experiment with stuff like this because to be honest, we do our best to hurry up and get our business done before one of our children wakes up and spoils the mood. In the forum though I can read about what other people are doing and using and see if its my cup of tea, or not. I can also ask questions of other users in the forum if I am curious about something. Personally I think that is awesome. Forums are great because you can be as anonymous or as recognized as you want. I can honestly say that I don't frequent shops that sell sex toys and the like. I'm also pretty sure that if I had to ask the sales clerk a question my face would turn beet red in embarrassment. Needless to say I would be one of the anonymous users. Obviously I am not the only one that finds this kind of forum a huge asset for Eden Fantasys. On any given day you can see the amount of discussions that are started and replied to which speaks volumes for this company and its users. To test the waters I decided to post a question of my own. You can check it out by looking in the forum, under the heading Eden Fantasys Web Site, sub heading Shopping the Site. Within half an hour of posting my question there were five responses. Pretty. Frickin. Cool.

If you are like me, sometimes you just need to take a step back and remember that before you were someone's mommy you were a vibrant, sexual being with wants and needs. As a mom we can sometimes tend to put that part of ourselves on the shelf for awhile, forgetting about that young sexy woman that we once were. We need to remind ourselves from time to time that its okay to put our needs first once in awhile. The dishes and the laundry will still be there tomorrow. Or in my case, the day after that, and the day after that...you get the idea here.

So in a nutshell, I think that if you are looking to spice things up and want to invest in some much needed time off the shelf, Eden Fantasys can hook you up! They have something for everyone, that's for sure!

Not Me Monday - Public Restroom Style

11:13 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

My past week of traveling has given me a not so wonderful refresher course on the use of public bathrooms. I have without a doubt decided that airport bathrooms are some of the nastiest bathrooms out there. It was not me that was totally disgusted when I finally got my turn in line to go only to discover that I got to use the toilet that was previously used by a hover pee-er in training. No wonder the chick that came out of the stall avoided making eye contact with me! She knew that in a matter of minutes that I would be cleaning up her drippings because her nasty ass just left them on the seat! I did not just quickly clean it up and then double layer the seat with two toilet seat covers just so I could pee. You would think that cleaning up pee would come easy to me after potty training Benji this last year - but nope, not me! I kinda wanna gag when I clean up a strangers pee. SO GROSS!

On top of just the over all grossness of the airport bathrooms you can't help but think about the countless women going in and out of the bathroom all day long - and the last time that the toilet your choosing to use was cleaned. Not to mention the horrible God awful smell that eminates throughout the entire restroom. For some reason after leaving the hellhole they call a bathroom I feel dirtier after walking out than walking in. Its at these moments I ache for the clean safety of my house.

I have to say though, through all the various and icky bathrooms I had the displeasure of coming across last week, including but not limited to - Chinatown, hotel lobby bathrooms, Academy of Sciences public bathroom (which was actually kind of cool), the absolute worst were the bathrooms at Six Flags Discovery Park. I actually think that these bathrooms see more traffic than an airport. The discolored cement floors that probably have a decades worth of filth engrained in them are the icing on the cake. I would never feel guilty about wasting toilet seat covers by placing three on the top of the toilet, nope not me!

Needless to say, I am glad to be back. In the comforts of my own bathroom. At least I know who frequents the bathrooms at my house!

Back from the City by the Bay!

10:52 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I am back! After a week away in San Francisco it is great to be home! I missed so much while I was gone so a ton of catch up is in order. All though I was happy to get my space and some much needed adult time I missed my kids like mad. Milestones galore happened while I was gone and all this in just one week!

Oscar had his 6th birthday on Sunday August 2, the day before we left. So we started our vacay still reeling from his awesome birthday party at the local kids party place. The kids had a great time in the bounce houses, huge jungle gym and playing lazer tag. Not to mention all of the arcade games. It was a great time for all of us.

While we were gone Oscar managed to lose his third tooth. So we of course had to explain the whole tooth fairy thing to my mother-in-law. She knew of it but never did it with her kids. I still haven't figured out where she put Oscar's tooth - I think she kept it for us...

Emilio learned how to stand up all on his own. On top of that, he has really dramatically improved his walking abilities. When I left he could barely make a step or two without falling down. Now, he can go for anywhere from six to ten - a huge improvement. I'm a little sad, sniff sniff, that I missed these huge moments for him. Why is it that they want to do all the cool stuff when I am not there? Oh, and he started to grow in two more teeth on the bottom. A whole new boy I came home to, I tell ya.

Thankfully my Benji didn't change much. My biggest disappointment with Benji was that he just didn't really seem to care when I phoned him from San Francisco. I know that he probably did but he would get on the phone and literally say "What do you want? I'm busy!" Oh well, at least I knew that he was having a great time without me. That was comfort enough.

As for me, I still have a ton of unpacking to do. Talk about busy! That part is my least favorite part of vacation. I wish I had a magic wand that could do it for me. I will probably be living out of those suitcases for the next couple weeks until I have used everything that I need.

Another big event is that my parents are leaving! They have been staying with us for over a month and all though I am sad to see them go, I am also thankful that the time has come for our family to get things settled back into the normal swing of things. Very thankful.

I am looking forward to getting back into the normal swing of things blog wise too. I have a few reviews and a few giveaways that are set up for this week. I have been pretty lazy this last month so its time to get my butt in gear and into my regular blog posting frenzy. I missed all of my bloggy friends and look forward to catching up on all of your blogs.

TTFN!
