The Perfect Nap Solution - SnuggleBug NapSac Review and Giveaway

Growing up I was daycare kid. From the age of 4-9 I spent my time before and after school at a daycare center. I loved daycare. I met so many other kids and had a lot of fun there. It was a wonderful childhood experience.

Being a primarily stay at home mom of three boys I haven't had the need to send my kids to daycare. I considered it but I quickly learned that I would spend more money on daycare than what I could bring home. To me, it just made the most sense to stay home and be with my children. However I have had to shuffle my kids around from time to time when either my parents or my in-laws have watched my boys over the years.

My parents were thrilled to be grandparents and they set up a nursery in their home. That way whenever I visited the boys had a place to nurse, nap and change. It was wonderful! My in-laws on the other hand are very different and they are busy raising my husbands younger brothers. Needless to say a nursery was the last thing on their mind. That being said it has been problematic since day one to take care of the boys at their house. We always had to be the most prepared.

One of the biggest hassles that we still encounter when we are visiting is nap time. Usually when Emilio falls asleep my in-laws end up putting him my 16 year old brother-in-law's bed. The same bed that he shares with the dog. Let me repeat, 16 year old boys bed. Yummy. So when I saw the SnuggleBug NapSac I knew that it was something that I needed Emilio to try out.

Just what is the SnuggleBug NapSac you ask? The SnuggleBug NapSac is a washable nap mat, pillow and carrying sack all in one! It has a flip in pillow for storage and a lined blanket that stuffs inside the bag for compact storage. The interior lining and pillow case are made of soft, pill resistant polar fleece and the outer shell is made of durable light weight nylon. It is great for daycare centers, babysitter's house and travel. The SnuggleBug NapSac has straps so that the child can wear it like a backpack. It is machine washable (bonus!) and made out of durable light weight fabrics. It has a large name tag that is easy to mark with a waterproof marker. The SnuggleBug NapSac is recommended for children ages 2-5.

I love promoting mom invented products, and of course who else but a mom would think of creating the SnuggleBug NapSac. The mom inventor, Amy, had noticed that when her daughter was napping at daycare that the blanket she sent with her wasn't enough. Her daughter's face, arms and legs were sticking to the school's plastic mat. I so remember those mats. I don't think that they have changed one bit since I was in daycare and that was over twenty years ago! I didn't even use a blanket, and I remember my face sticking to the mats. Now that I am a mother it is just gross when you think of how many other children were lying on the same mats day after day before they were sanitized - if they were sanitized at all. So out of necessity Amy created the first SnuggleBug NapSac for her three year old daughter. This would solve two problems - having a clean, comfy, sanitary place to lie as well as a comfortable pillow and blanket that covered the child's whole body. When friends and family had seen what she created they encouraged her to produce and offer her brilliant sleep sack to other parents.

This diagram shows you how the SnuggleBug NapSac works:

One of my favorite features about the SnuggleBug NapSac is that it is light weight and compact. If needed I can have Emilio wear it on his back like a backpack, which is pretty awesome considering he is only 19 mos old. I like the fact that I can take it with me in the car and it takes up hardly any space. I have used similar items in the past but the blanket was so poorly stitched on the side that my boys didn't have any trouble ripping it off. I really like the fact that the blanket is sewn all down the one side and across the bottom. I also have to say that I love the material too. It is soft and comfy plus the nylon exterior helps keeps things from sticking to the fabric like crumbs. Or in my case, dog hair. Now we can still lie Emilio down on my brother-in-law's bed but he has his own mini bed that is a sanitary place to nap. I LOVE that!

Here are some pictures of Emilio trying it out, he was more than happy to climb right in!

Oscar and Benji wanted to try it out too. They thought that it was a great idea! But, they are at the ages where they don't take naps, but it could be useful for a quick over night stay at grandma's. Benji just likes to cuddle up in it when he watches TV. They both agreed that it was comfortable and the pillow felt good. You can see how generous the sizing is on the sack because Oscar is 6.5 and Benji is almost 5 and they both had plenty of room.

In my opinion the SnuggleBug NapSac is the perfect solution for nap time. Great for daycares or at the babysitter's house. This product will put any mom's mind at ease when their little person has to take a nap somewhere other than home. The perfect away from home nap solution!
