Share Your Spring Cleaning Tips and Win a Fantastic Aller-Ease Product Bundle! Its TWO giveaways in ONE!

Are you ready for Spring and all the cleaning that comes along with it? I am so excited about this Aller-Ease Spring into Action campaign! The Flip for Fall campaign was a ton of fun and there were many great tips shared and lots of wonderful Aller-Ease products given away but the Spring into Action campaign is even BETTER! There are more opportunities to win as well as some fantastic prize baskets.

When we clean our homes in preparation for the Spring, whether you realize it or not, it helps reduce the built up dust, dander and mold spores that can contribute to allergy flare ups. Reducing the cause of allergens in the home will help your entire family breathe easier which is why Aller-Ease and The Motherhood want to know your best Spring cleaning tips! Aller-Ease will be putting together "The Best Spring Cleaning Tips of All Time" tip sheet and they need your help. We all have cleaning tips, some we have learned from our mothers and grandmothers, and some we have even learned off of the internet! There may even be some Spring cleaning rituals that we do and don't even know why we do them.

Aller-Ease realizes that its not only important to know what we clean and why, but how. There are some cleaning jobs that have been made easier through the mother of invention. With millions of innovative cleaning products on the market, Aller-Ease would love to know which one is your favorite. Is there a cleaning product out there that has made life easier for you? One that you absolutely can't live without?

To help get you thinking about your Spring cleaning tips and favorite cleaning products my friends and I have put together a short video to help get your creative juices flowing! Don't you just love my facial expression? Thanks YouTube for that, ha ha!

cleaning tip: I learned this off of a baby site; I put the kid's stuffed toys in the top shelf of the dishwasher and run it. They say it's better for them then the washer that spins them around and around. It's great for baby toys and cloth books too!
An Apel a Day said…
Extra Tip 1: I wash the drapes. They say that they hold a lot of dust. With my fabric blinds, I vacuum them.
An Apel a Day said…
Extra Tip 2: I try and have the kids and us take our shoes off at the door. Otherwise they track in pollen and dirt. I got an under storage shoe holder, this is great to put off season shoes.
An Apel a Day said…
Extra Tip 3: I wash our pillow cases in every load of laundry. It's nice to have back up pillow cases.
An Apel a Day said…
Extra Tip 4: I clean counters, sinks and floors with distilled vinegar and water. This is much better then many products you can buy because it isn't toxic. It doesn't smell because the water neutralizes the vinegar.
An Apel a Day said…
Extra Tip 6: I clean I clean our hair bushes out regularly. An old hair pick work great to pick all the hair out. Then I put the hair brushes in water and shampoo for a few hours. I work it in with my hands and wow a clean brush!

The key to good cleaning and organization in any busy household is that you get a good label maker, you make sure everything in your home has its place and then you label that place so that things can easily be put back by anyone in the home that uses them.

Use shaving cream to clean furniture, carpets, rugs (not delicates that will easily fall apart) instead of having to pay to get it cleaned or buy new ones. Stains come out and it smells good too (not for deep stains).

Best window cleaner ever. Take 1/2 cup of cornstarch and mix with a gallon of water. Mix very good, then you can either pour some in spray bottle or you can pour some in a container. Then start cleaning. Really good stuff. If you have really dirty windows you might need to do a couple of times. Good tip for going green, also.

To get rid of the musty smell in your washer, especially if front loader. The Maytag Man told me to run powdered dish detergent (any brand) through my machine once a month (with no clothing in it) and it would do away with the smell. It has worked for me. Hope it works for you!

Fast and easy way to clean your freezer, use a fan. Simply empty the freezer and direct at top speed in front of a stand up or on top of a chest freezer. The frost will melt in a matter of minutes! No need to wrap the food to keep it frozen as it will be returned to the freezer in less than 1/2 hour.

A green way to clean kitchen or sink drains. First we use a plunger to loosen the clog enough to get the water to drain, then we pour 1/2 a box of baking soda in the drain, followed by white distilled vinegar. I've never measured out the amount of vinegar I've used, but know it is 1/4 of a large bottle. Wait 15 minutes and add another splash of vinegar followed by running very hot water for 5 minutes.

Favorite cleaning product is vinegar. Mix it with Dawn 50/50, it makes a great cleaner for fiberglass tubs; mix it with water to clean dog spots on the carpet. It kills germs too.

#1 Spring Cleaning Tip: I just heard a new cleaning tip. Wash windows horizontally on the inside and vertically on the outside. That way if they streak, you'll know which side you need to redo!

Tackle one room at a time and start from top to bottom. Have all your cleaning products in one caddy 2 carry from room 2 room easily.

To clean wood floors put hot water and up to six tea bags in a bucket. Make it strong. The tannic acid in teas is really, really good for wood floors. garrettsambo@aol.com
