We understand that building a nursery is a very important step in motherhood. And if you have a baby boy or are expecting one we hope that you find this informational bedding site a helpful guide in your quest to build your ideal nursery. Here you'll find helpful tips and inspiring advice from a mother who went through the process of creating a nursery.

Thank you Pretty Pink Momma for allowing us a place to talk about our quality baby bedding sets in detail. We hope to see you soon on Beyond Bedding for all your bedding needs!

Aloha Friday - Paint Color

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

What color is your house painted? Do you like it or would you change it?

We will be painting our house in the next couple of months and we are thinking about changing the color. The problem is that I can't quite figure out what color to paint it. Right now it is yellow, with white trim and brown/maroonish shingles. I want to keep the white trim and I'm pretty sure I like the shingles the way that they are. No clue about the paint other than no blue. It seems like so many neighbors of mine painted their house blue. Any advice?

Saying Goodbye to Video Thursday

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Photobucket

I have had a lot of fun doing Video Thursday over the last year but the time has come for me to end my Video Thursday reign. The sad truth is that I just don't seem to have enough time to continue with it, at least in a scheduled way. The way my life has been lately it is just one more thing to try to cram into my weekly schedule. I started doing it for fun, not as a chore. Now that it feels more like a chore I think its time to say goodbye.

Now I still plan on sharing hilarious video clips and things that I find amusing it just won't have any rhythm to it. It will be as it comes and when I feel like it instead of pigeonholed into Thursday.

I want to say thanks to anyone who participated in Video Thursday. Whenever any of my bloggy buds participated or commented, please know that it made my day. Its really nice to have some sort of recognition for the things that you do and for me people enjoying what I played and then in turn sharing their videos with me made it all worthwhile.

So here is the very last video that will be filed under Video Thursday. A little comedy - old school style. This one's for you Alicia!

Wordful/Wordless Wednesday - Baby Boys and Trucks

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Emilio, only 21 months, is thrilled to finally riding with the big boys in their Power Wheels. I, on the other hand, am terrified. I don't think that he is old enough to be riding around even as a passenger in that thing. My husband thinks that I'm an overprotective freak but I beg to differ. He always thinks I am crazy until someone gets hurt or maimed. Then and only then will he agree that I was right.

It is adorable to see how much fun he is having but this is an activity that only Dad can stomach doing with them. The only reason that Emilio is even wearing a helmet is because I insisted that if he was going to put our child's life at risk he should at least put a helmet on his head.

What do you think? Who's right - him or me?

Off they go!

ATG Stores You Light Up My Life! ATG Stores Review and $100 Gift Certificate Giveaway

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Lately I have been itching to do some home improvements. Our house is getting a little older and the finishes in the house are not exactly what I would have picked had I been the one choosing them. As many of you know after you purchase a home sometimes its hard to find the extra cash to do some home improvements so you wait until the time is right, or you are just plain sick of looking at what you don't like. My goal over the year is to make small changes throughout the house that make a big impact. The house needs to be modernized a bit and brought up to date.

One of the easiest ways to update a look in a room, besides paint, is changing out the light fixtures. This has been on my "to do" list for quite some time. When ATG Stores contacted me about doing a review for an item of my choosing from one of their 400 plus stores obviously I was hardly able to contain my excitement!

For my first official minor home improvement I decided to choose a light fixture for our kitchen dining area. The one we had was dated and I was never fond of the dark rustic brown color. Over the last few years I have added splashes of brushed nickel in the kitchen dining area so I was on the hunt for a light fixture that was larger, brighter and brushed nickel. I found the PERFECT one at Lighting Universe, for $100. From the moment my husband and I saw the Nuvo Lighting 60-1 Gotham 3 Light Chandelier, we were in love. Isn't it gorgeous?

My husband didn't have any problems removing the old fixture and installing the new one. The quality and look of the light fixture update the kitchen so much! The design is simple and elegant. Switching from one bulb to three has brightened up the space a lot. We couldn't be happier with our new light fixture. Check out these pictures of my hubby removing the old one and putting in our new beautiful fixture!

As I mentioned earlier, ATG Stores has 400 stores online each with tons of amazing products to choose from. ATGstores.com has great stores like LightingUniverse.com, FixtureUniverse.com, DecorUniverse.com, HomeFurnitureShowroom.com, SportingGoodsCentral.com, NewBabySupply.com, OutdoorLivingShowroom.com and CookingandTableware.com just to name a few.

Below is a slide show that I created featuring over 35 products that can be found at ATGstores.com - all for under $100.

Don't Forget t o Send Your Mom a Card this Mother's Day! Love and Luck Greetings Review and Giveaway- 2 Winners!

10:51 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Mother's Day is quickly approaching. In fact, if you haven't yet figured out just what to get your mom you should definitely check out my Mother's Day Gift Guide for some great ideas!

Once you get that perfect gift all picked out you still need one more thing - the perfect Mother's Day greeting card. Even if you don't buy your mom a gift chances are that you at least send her a card. I know that some of you have probably gotten used to sending greetings in an email, but to be totally honest, I think that it shows how thoughtful you are when you send it in the mail. I have to send my mom a card in the mail because she loves to receive them. She gets the thought behind taking the time to choose the perfect card, sign and mail it. Plus, she always makes a point to mail me and the kids birthday, anniversary and just about any other type of holiday card that you can think of. She even sends ME a Mother's Day card to share with me how much she loves that I am now a mom.

Bottom line, cards are important. Very important. This year I will be sending my mom this Dogwood Card that can be found at Love at Luck Greetings for $4.75. I chose the Dogwood Card because when I was growing up, the very first house that my parents ever owned had a Dogwood Tree in the front yard. My mom loved that tree, I know that when she a Dogwood Tree her thoughts immediately go to the time that was spent in that house, raising her children. She will definitely see the sentiment behind this card that I am giving to her.

Love and Luck Greetings offers artistic and unique greeting cards and invitations for all occassions. Whether its birthdays, holidays, or any other special occassion Love and Luck Greetings has a variety of unique cards that can't be found in your average card shop. The cards are designed and created by a loving couple that wish to spread love and luck to all with the cards that they design. Each card is designed with her graphics and his illustrations that make each card a work of art.

Love and Luck Greeting Cards can be found in several different card and gift shops nationwide. I was pleased to see that there are several retailers in my home state of Washington as well as one that is even in my hometown of Shoreline!

Check out the other Mother's Day Cards that they have to offer:

Love & Luck Greetings Mother Bird Card, $4.75

Tell your mom you haven't flown far from the nest by giving her this perfect Mother's Day card.

Love & Luck Greetings Kangaroo Card, $4.75

Get a jump start on celebrating Mother's Day with this adorable card for mom!

Love & Luck Greetings Panda Card, $4.75

Aloha Friday - Family Portrait

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

How often to do you take a family portrait?

We would like to get them done annually but it seems that we only do it about every two years. We just has ours taken yesterday. It was like Chinese torture to get a good family shot. Emilio cried about 90% of the time because he was pissed that he wasn't able to play with the toys in the waiting area. We had to coax him into a partial smile - once. Benji was horrible in the studio and nearly took out the background at least five times. Which totally freaked out the photographer. Oscar did all of his fighting with us before the appointment because we wanted him to wear jeans in the picture and he absolutely can't stand wearing jeans. All in all, we only ended up with one decent shot of the whole fam and a few great shots of Oscar and Benji together. We did manage to get one semi smile picture of Emilio too. Not bad, but I really wanted one of all three boys together which was impossible because Emilio refused to cooperate.

Celebrate Earth Day with a Chic Little Giveaway from Lorijoz Unique Gifts

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Happy Earth Day everyone! Each year this day reminds us to re-think our daily living habits and see if there is a way to live life just a little greener. It is important to think about ways to help reduce our carbon footprint. A carbon footprint as defined by CarbonFootprint.com is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment, and in particular climate change. It relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our day-to-day lives through burning fossil fuels for electricity, heating and transportation etc. There are two parts to the your carbon footprint, your primary use of CO2 emissions that you have direct control over and then your secondary footprint which is a measure of the indirect CO2 emissions from the whole lifecycle of products we use. To learn more about carbon footprints and and estimation of what your own carbon footprint may be you can visit CarbonFootprint.com.

There are so many simple ways that we can reduce our carbon footprint. How many of you drink coffee from your favorite coffee shops and stands on a regular basis? We all know that those paper coffee cups can be super hot to hold thus the invention of the paper coffee/tea jacket. If you think about how many of those each day get used and then tossed in the garbage right along with your empty Starbucks cup, that alone makes a huge impact on the planet. Something so small, when used and tossed away by millions of people each day can affect the environment in ways that some of us can't even possibly imagine.

Don't get me wrong, I think that those jackets are a smart invention because I for one can't stand to hold a steaming hot cup, in my dainty little hands. This is where the earth friendly coffee/tea cozy made of fabric comes to the rescue, like those found at Lorijoz Unique Gifts.

Lorijoz Unique Gifts creates handmade Coffee or Tea Cozies that are designed to fit perfectly around Starbucks coffee cups. Imagine how you can reduce your own carbon footprint by replacing those boring, paper jackets with a stylish and chic fabric cozy! Below are a few of my favorite designs that are available:

These beautiful and stylish coffee cozys will have you looking smart, chic and most of all environmentally aware. I love the addition of the button for decoration, however, if you prefer, the cozy can most certainly be made without it. There are thirteen different fabric styles to choose from and all of them are fun and flirty. A coffee cozy would make a great Mother's Day gift too! You could adorn a cozy around an empty Starbucks cup and place some tissue with a Starbucks gift card inside! For added detail you could also include a matching wristlet key fob also available at Lorijoz Unique Gifts.

You can purchase a Coffee or Tea Cozy from Lorijoz Unique Gifts for only $8.99. Don't forget about the matching wristlet key fob for only $5.99!
