Wordless/Wordful Wednesday -Emilio, Not Your Ordinary Sippy Cup!

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

My husband was watching the boys last weekend and realized that it had been too quiet for a few minutes. He looked for little Emilio instantly because when its quiet he is the first one to get into trouble. He walked into the kitchen and found this:

I'm just glad that he has figured out a way to play with all of the sippy cups and keep the mess contained!

Just Released June 29th: The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo! The Complete Series - Review and Giveaway

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Scooby-Doo is one of the most classic and most loved cartoons in existence. I have fond childhood memories of watching Scooby-Doo and the Gang solve mysteries, it was one show that my older brother and I could always agree on. It was especially cool for me to watch my little boys become just as enamored with the series.

Scooby-Doo is a household favorite of ours. Its a show that is loved by all ages, parents and children alike. In my opinion it is one of the best animated series to date. My boys love all the episodes old and new, and couldn't wait to watch the newest release, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo! The Complete Series, available June 29th on DVD.

The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo! The Complete Series - Review

My boys LOVED this series, all 307 minutes of it! The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo! features 13 classic episodes on a two disc collection, which also includes a special feature bonus episode. Since we received this DVD for review it has been a Scooby-Doo extravaganza at our house. I can't keep this series out of the DVD player.

The basic storyline is that Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Daphne and Scrappy Doo are hunting down 13
of the world's meanest ghosts, and trying to recapture them in the Chest of Demons. Scooby-Doo is the only one that can capture the ghosts and get them back into the chest because he was the one that accidentally let them out thanks to two sneaky ghosts named Weerd and Bogel. The super sleuths are also joined by Flim Flam, a mischievous little boy that is part con artist and part magician, that helps them on their quest to capture all 13 ghosts. The gang is guided on this ghost hunt by the world's greatest mystic, Vincent Van Ghoul, who is voiced and inspired by Vincent Price. Viewers get to enjoy the hilarious humor that ensues as the gang travels the globe hunting and capturing all 13 ghosts.

Disc One Episodes
  • To All the Ghouls I've Loved Before
  • Scoobra Kadoobra
  • Me and My Shadow Demon
  • Reflections in a Ghoulish Eye
  • That's Monstertainment
  • Ship of Ghouls
Disc Two Episodes
  • A Spooky Little Ghoul Like You
  • When You Witch Upon a Star
  • It's a Wonderful Scoob

Celebrate Operation Birthday Cake with Bake Me A Wish!

3:12 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

As you may remember in May Pretty Pink Momma partnered up with Bake Me A Wish! for a Mother's Day Cake giveaway. I was able to sample one of the most delicious cakes I had ever tasted in my life thanks to Bake Me A Wish!.

Bake Me A Wish! would like to invite you to help them spread the word or help participate in sharing their awesome cakes with deserving soldiers around the world.

Here is their message:

Bake Me A Wish participates in Operation Birthday Cake, a program that sends cakes around the
world to soldiers on their birthdays. This program carried out in concert with Soldier's Angels has
been responsible for the delivery of over 6,000 cakes in the past few years.
Recently, we were lucky to be part of CPT Dan Murphy's 40th birthday. How did we
celebrate it? Why by sending 40 cakes for his 40th to Kosovo, of course!

You can see images from the birthday party celebration here: http://www.facebook.com/?tid=1475913547496&sk=messages#!/album.php?aid=2066264&id=1436973450&ref=mf

Also, we are looking to do something cool this 4th of July. If our
Facebook page reaches 4,000 fans by then, BMAW will donate 50 additional cakes
then it did last month. That's 50 soldiers, 50 parties and a lot of really great
moral.

Please help BMAW reach their goal. I know that cake can't bring them home but receiving these delicious cakes would most certainly brighten their day. So if are not all ready a fan of BMAW go visit them now and become one to support this great cause!

Aloha Friday - This Weekend

3:15 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

[alohafriday.jpg]

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

What are you most looking forward to this weekend?

I am really looking forward to my one hour massage appointment tonight. I don't think that anything else I have lined up this weekend can top that! All though checking out the huge neighborhood garage sale on Saturday morning with my MIL is a very close second.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Baby Proof Your Home in Style with Rhoost! - Review and Giveaway

11:59 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

As any mom will tell you having small children means giving up certain things for awhile. One of those things is style. When you have small children baby-proofing is a necessary evil. There are tons of gadgets out there to protect our children from dangers in the home and almost all of them are butt ugly. So during this period of time in our lives we choose to sacrifice style for safety. Thankfully one company out there understands our need to be chic and safe, Rhoost.

Rhoost baby proofing products are not only functional but fashionable too. Rhoost products fit it seamlessly with your decor and are a great alternative to those hideous baby-proofing products of yesteryear. Rhoost products are portable, don't use any adhesives or screws and are BPA, Lead and Phthalate Free. Not only are Rhoost products safe for your family but safe for the environment too, they are 100% recyclable.

Rhoost Product Line

Photobucket

Rhoost offers two fab solutions for the two most common baby-proofing needs, the Edge and the Sling Hub.

The Sling Hub

The Rhoost Sling is a cabinet lock that not only keeps little ones out of your cabinets but looks great while doing it. This simple cabinet lock blends in seamlessly and detracts curious little fingers from helping themselves to contents inside. The Rhoost Sling comes in brown or black, fits most standard cabinets and is sold in packs of four.

The Rhoost Edge - Review

The Rhoost Edge is like no other table corner protector that I have ever seen. There are no screws or adhesives to keep it in place and it is made of rubber with rounded edges. It can be applied to and removed from corners with ease. I received a four pack in Black to review, but this product is also available in Plum or Brown. The fact that there are color options makes the Edge a unique and stylish baby-proofing product in comparison to others like it on the market.

Once I figured out how the Edge worked they were easy to install. At first I couldn't figure out how to undo the band from the plate but after a few minutes of messing with it I learned that I had to stretch the bands out straight instead of pulling them upward to remove them from their position. I think the strongest asset that the Rhoost Edge possesses is that it can be installed or removed in seconds without damaging the table. They are perfect for visits to grandma's or friends houses who may not be set up for accommodating small children.

You can purchase the Edge for $14.99 or the Sling for $9.99 at Rhoost.com.

Rhoost is providing one lucky Pretty Pink Momma reader with a Sling Hub!

Thursdays Friends and Giveaways Cafe - With ME as a Guest Host!!

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

If you love finding new blogs to read and fun giveaways to enter than you are in luck! Welcome to "Thursday's Friends & Giveaways Cafe" hosted by Deb of Menopausal New Mom and Tammy of Tammy's Two Cents. These two awesome ladies wanted to create a place for not only Blog Hopping but with a SECOND link where everyone could post their current Giveaways. The only rule for posting Giveaways on this Hop is that each one must have a value of $25 or More!

One of the coolest things about this blog hop is that each week Tammy and Deb will randomly select someone from the previous week's hop to be their guest host!

Guess What? This week I am the Guest Host! Whoo Hooo! What are the odds? I was just thinking that to myself last week when I joined up that it would be great to co-host, but what are the odds? Well, I guess pretty good!

Many of you may not know it but Tammy is actually my IRL next door neighbor. Blogging has brought us closer together (I know, closer than next door?) and I am so glad that I can not only call Tammy my neighbor but my dear friend.

Tammy and Deb are always looking for ways to make their blog hop better and one reason that I am so excited about this week in particular is that they now have added an embed code so that you can watch the hop from your very own blog! How cool is that? Now you only have to refresh your own page to see what great new friends to follow and giveaways to enter that have been added!

I linked up and I hope that I will make many new friends! Follow me and I will most definitely make it a point to follow you back and say hi!

Wordless/Wordful Wednesday - Benji isn't a baby any more!

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

On Friday Benji graduated from preschool. It was a huge deal for him and we were all so proud. He was so excited, he even picked out the shirt that he was going to wear a few days in advance. Benji was at this preschool for two full years. I am so thankful to all the teachers in the classroom. They really helped Benji to come out of his shell this last year. Preschool hasn't been easy for him with his social and language delays but it sure was fun for him!

His graduation was so cute. They entered in a procession and took their places. Then they sang songs. After that each of them came up and got their diploma. During that time the teacher shared some facts about each child, including what they want to do when they grow up. My heart melted when Benji said that he wanted to grow up and fix tires just like his dad. He was so funny because afterwards he made it clear to us that he just wanted to fix tires, "Only tires! Nothing else!" he said. Too cute!

Congratulations Benji! You are so ready for Kindergarten now!

Summer Bridge Workbooks Help to Bridge the Academic Gap Until Kids Start School in the Fall - Review and Giveaway

1:12 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Summer is finally here! Benji graduated preschool last Friday and Oscar's last day of school was yesterday. Benji is very excited to finally be considered a kindergartner and Oscar thinks that he is one cool kid on his way to the second grade. I am so proud of both them and the gains that they have made this last school year. Each of them faces unique academic challenges and they have both grown so much as individuals. That being said, I want them to keep their skills polished throughout the summer so that they will be more than ready in the fall to resume their education.

We learned about the Summer Bridge Activities books from the elementary school that both the boys attend. Oscar was in a special needs program for help with his speech and daily living goals as a preschooler and the teachers in that program boasted that the Summer Bridge Activities work books were the best books for helping kids stay on course academically in the summer.

For the past two summers Oscar has been using the Summer Bridge Activities books in order to refresh his memory on what he learned the previous school year and start working on concepts that will be introduced to him in the upcoming year. Now that Benji will be entering kindergarten in the fall he too will be working on the skills and concepts that he learned in preschool and getting that jump start for kindergarten.

When I found out that I was going to be doing a review for Summer Bridge Activities books I was ecstatic! The Summer Bridge Activities books are very well rounded and cover several areas of development not only mental but physical. These award winning work books include 12 weeks worth of activities that focus on:

  • Reading Skills
  • Math Skills
  • Fine-Motor Skills
  • Easy Science Experiments
  • Outdoor Activities
  • Handwriting
  • Shapes and Colors
  • Visual Discrimination
  • Character Development
  • Fitness Activities

Oscar's book also includes a summer reading list suggestion since he now knows how to read. I love that they have done the work for me and all I need to do is buy the books or check them out at the library.

My mom loves spending time with the boys and she is a wonderful teacher to them. She has a way of explaining things to them and they listen very carefully to what she has to say. They love working on their work books with grandma and she loves helping them. It is a huge bonding activity that they go through each summer. It is time that all of them look forward to spending with each other. Here is my mom working with the boys on their new Summer Bridges Activities books:

Father's Day and Fart Jokes

1:22 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I hope that you all had a great Father's Day weekend! I know that I did! It was a little hectic because we had to be with my family part of the day and his family the other part. It worked out just fine though, but we were tired puppies when we got home last night because both of our families live 80 miles north of us. It was a long drive but well worth the trip for the food alone.

I love getting cards for Oscar for Father's Day, it is so fun to pick them out. I usually get him two cards from just me, a serious one and a silly one. Then one from the boys. I saw this card from the boys to their dad and I just knew it was the one!

Even more awesome is that the caution sign is a magnet that we can put on the fridge - ha ha!!! On the inside of the card this is what it read:

Apparently I am not the only one in this world that thinks a warning sign is an appropriate Father's Day gift!

Give Him What He Really Wants for Father's Day! - Eden Fantasys $50 Gift Card Giveaway

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Seeing as its Father's Day today I thought that I would spice it up a bit with a Father's Day giveaway for the man who has everything and only wants one thing! We all know that what husbands really want from their wives, on any special occasion - not just Father's Day, and it happens behind closed doors. Preferably when the kids are all asleep. Or better yet - at Grandma's house! This year why not give him what he really wants with a gift from Eden Fantasys.

You know I love me some Eden Fantasys, and in the past I have reviewed several things - but all of them were really for me, not for my man. My favorites included lingerie and masssage kits. Okay, so the lingerie was for him just a little, but mostly me. So this time around, seeing that its Father's Day and all, I picked out something with him in mind. And no, I didn't go for the sex toys, instead I picked out the Ting Ting Head Tuner, because he loves getting his head massaged. I hate massaging his head so this product sounded like a win-win for me!

The Ting ting Head Tuner is a vibrating head massager by Entrenue that surrounds your head with adjustable vibrating prongs. There are five different speeds for your enjoyment. The Ting Ting Head Tuner was rated 3.5 stars out of 5 on the EF site and noted as one of the top 50 massagers.

One thing that I like about this massager is that it is family friendly. My kids passed it around and had fun sticking it on each other's heads. They were cracking up as it vibrated over their little noggins. There are five speeds and each speed has a different intensity or pulse, but honestly in my opinion they don't really seem to have that much difference between them.

My husband really liked it, for something different to use, but he still prefers that I massage his head with my hands as opposed to the head tuner. When I am tired and don't feel like giving it my all I think that the head tuner is a good alternative solution that works for both of us. I had my husband try it out on me as well and I think that it feels great for about five minutes or so and then I tire of the buzzing sound in my ears. We both agree that the pulse setting that vibrates intermittently is the least pleasurable. Also, the small prongs in the top center are superfluous, they do nothing. If you try to push them towards your head they end up causing more pain than pleasure. Even with that being said, all in all, I have to say its a useful little gadget to have when you want a little bit of stress relief after a long day. I would rate this a 3 out of 5 stars.

How about you? Do you like head massages? Are you a giver or a receiver? Take the Poll in the Eden Fantasys forum!

Buy It!

You can buy the Ting Ting Head Tuner at Eden Fantasys for $29.99. A little steep for the quality of massage that you get, I think that $19.99 would be a more appropriate price. However, quality head massagers are not cheap and the Ting Ting Head Tuner is priced far less than any others at Eden Fantasys.

Quick and Simple Dinner Idea - Freschetta Flatbread Pizza and a Salad

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Freschetta. All opinions are 100% mine.

Sometimes its hard coming up with new ideas for dinner so one of our family's favorite go to dinners is pizza. I know that without a doubt, all of my boys will eat pizza without a whine or whimper. Ordering pizza can be expensive depending on where you get it so if we are tight on cash that week I like to pick up a Freschetta pizza from the grocery store.

We are a family of five so to make the frozen pizza stretch I will also pick up a premixed bag of salad to compliment it as well. I usually keep Olive Garden salad dressing on hand to fancy the salad up so it feels like we went out to dinner even when we stayed in. Fresh salad and hot pizza go together so well, we all enjoy this quick and inexpensive dinner. On nights like these I even like to use paper plates so I don't have any dishes either!

Whenever I purchase frozen pizzas for the entire family to enjoy it is always Freschetta. I find that this brand in particular tastes the best to me, that way I get the restaurant style without the restaurant price. If you have never tried a Freschetta pizza you are missing out! I highly recommend this yummy pizza. My favorite is just plain pepperoni but they have several other options to choose from.

The newest line of Freschetta pizzas that I haven't had a chance to try yet are the Freschetta FlatBread pizzas. My husband and I like to eat flat bread pizzas from time to time these new flavors sound super good. The new flavors include Zesty Italian, Roasted Garlic and Spinach, Pepperoni and Five Cheese. I am dying to try the Pepperoni because I love pepperoni pizza! My husband would prefer the Zesty Italian because he loves meats on pizza. The boys would go for the Five Cheese, they love cheese pizza!

It looks like I need to buy three different flavors to satisfy the whole family, so its a good thing that at http://www.freschetta.com/thin-crust-pizzas/flatbread-pizza/default.aspx I can get a coupon for $1 off any Freschetta pizza. I'll be printing out about a dozen of these to keep on hand for my next shopping excursion.

So, if you need a quick and delicious, no fuss dinner, grab a Freschetta pizza and some salad and you are good to go! Don't forget to visit Freschetta.com to grab the $1 off coupon too!

Pamper Yourself this Summer with Touch'd Bath and Body Products - Review and Giveaway

4:00 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

As a mom of three busy boys I know just how hard it can be to find time for yourself. Recently I have made more of an effort to take care of my body and splurge on products and services that make me feel relaxed and all girly. I love all the awesome scrubs and lotions out there but I have sensitive skin so I must be choosy about what goes on my body. After learning about a new line of bath and body products by Touch'd I was ecstatic to have the chance to review some.

About Touch'd

Touch'd is a bath and body product line developed by Rachel Ferrucci. A former hair stylist with a passion for beauty and fashion, she is a beauty product enthusiast. Rachel spent over eight years researching to find just the right ingredients to create her scrubs, lotions and salts from. She was looking to produce a product that met all the needs of her family. After years of perfecting her formulas, Touch'd was born.

Sugar Scrub Review

I was sent a luxurious organic Sugar Scrub, in Tropical Paradise, to try out. I love scrubs because I have really dry skin and exfoliation and moisturizing is a must for me. My first impression of the scrub was the smell. It was heavenly! I can't speak for the other flavors options but mine smells so good, I have to practically refrain myself from eating it!

The sugar scrubs are designed to exfoliate your skin by removing the top layer of dead skin cells which in turn opens the pores and allows for the skin to breathe. The blend of sugar and essential oils together create this amazing scrub that exfoliates and when washed away leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth.

I used the scrub on my upper arms because I have dry patches and eczema. I also used it on my the heels of my feet because I am barefoot a lot which dries out the skin on my feet. In both cases the sugar scrub and essential oils slough away the dry skin while nourishing at the same time.

My upper arms is what I really like to use the scrub on the most, I use it about two to three times a week when I shower. The sugar melts away and the oils left behind leave my skin soft and smooth. I love that when I use it the scrub it is really fragrant but that when I step out of the shower and towel off the scent is very light. I can still use my regular perfume without it clashing or competing. After drying off the oils soak in and just leave my arms soft and sexy, not oily at all. I LOVE that!

My only complaint about the product is the packaging. All though I love the flavor that I was sent, it wasn't labeled anywhere on the container so I had to check back through my emails to find out which one I was sent. My only concern for the average consumer would be that you would forget which scent you ordered originally and then when it came time to reorder you wouldn't have a clue what you got. Hopefully this is only a small oversight and the company will come up with stickers or some other type of waterproof label to apply to the containers to prevent confusion in the future. Other than that very small complaint, I absolutely love this scrub!

In the words of Rachel Ferrucci, "Feel sexy, Feel beautiful, Get Touchd!".

Buy It!

You can purchase any of the Touch'd Bath and Body products at http://Touch'd.net. The amazingly awesome sugar scrub that I reviewed is available for $36. Also available for purchase is Bath Butter, Moisture Myst, Tub Tea Bags and Foaming Salt Soak. I have read other bloggers reviews on each of these products and all of them rave about each product as I have about the sugar scrub. I would love to try the Bath Butter or the Moisture Myst since I had such a great experience with the Sugar Scrub.

From now until July 15th, use the promo code PrettyPink, and you will receive 25% off of your order!

Win It!

Aloha Friday - Toy Story 3

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

[alohafriday.jpg]

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

Toy Story 3 opens today, do you plan on going to the theater to see it?

We love the Toy Story movies so we are going tonight to watch it as a family. My mom is coming along to for extra help with the kids if we need it. Keeping my hopes up that all the kids behave! Last time we took them all it was a disaster, Oscar threw up and had diarrhea during the middle of the movie and Emilio was crying at different parts of the movie so we had to take him out of the theater. Benji was great except he talks at all the quiet parts, which can be pretty annoying for the other movie goers. Hopefully all three boys will do better this time!
