Celebrate National Family Game Night with Dean's Dip! - Dean's Dip Party Pack Giveaway

11:50 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

National Family Game Night

Tonight is National Family Game Night! We love to play games with our boys, its such a great way to bond. One reason that I am so happy that the boys are close in age is because they can play games together. I was the youngest in my family and all though I had a ton of games no one in my family liked to play them with me. Only on special occasions at my grandma's would our family get together and play Monopoly. I still treasure those game nights as some of my fondest family memories.

Benji loves to play games all the time because he is so darn lucky! He almost always wins, he reminds me of myself when I was a kid. I was pretty good at games too! I love seeing all of the boys eyes light up when they are about to make that smart move or big win. The joy of winning - it never gets old.

One of the awesome things about being married to someone from a different country and culture is that I have been able to learn some new games that my husband's family play together. My favorite by far is Loteria. It is the spanish version of BINGO. It is so much fun to play with the boys and we get to teach them some spanish words while playing as an added bonus.

Most commonly beans are used as the markers on the board but we were using Connect Four chips because that is the boys other current favorite at the moment.  This game is so much fun and I look forward to playing it in honor of National Family Game Night with the boys.

Every family knows that great snacks help make Family Game Night a huge success.  Everyone snacks on their favorite foods while playing their favorite games.  The two obviously go hand in hand because eating is the one thing that families do most often together.  One of our favorite healthy snacks in our house is carrots and/or pretzel crackers dipped in  Dean's Ranch Dip.  Dean's Dip is so yummy!  The best part is that there are only 60 calories in 2 TBSP of the dip versus 140 for 2 TBSP of regular ranch dressing.

My favorite Dean's Dip is Ranch, but there are several other flavors available as well.  At my local grocery store they only offer the Ranch, French Onion and Guacamole but I am really hoping that they will soon have the newest additions to the Dean's Dip family, the Cheddar Cheese and Honey Mustard pretzel dips.  I love cheese and I have recently become really fond of honey mustard pretzels so these sound so delicious to me!

Introducing 2 NEW twists in Dairy Dips
NEW Pretzel Dips from Dean's® Dip, the #1 Dairy Dip brand!

HONEY MUSTARD
Add a sweet twist to a savory pretzel!  This classic pretzel dip made with real honey and Dijon mustard is a low-fat snack worth savoring! Try it on pretzel twists, sticks, or chips. Also great with other finger foods like chicken nuggets or egg rolls.

CHEDDAR CHEESE
Cheddar Cheese and pretzels go together like Oktoberfest and beer. The tangy flavor of cheddar cheese adds a zesty zip to pretzels or chips, crackers or baked potatoes.

Win It!

One lucky Pretty Pink Momma reader will win a Dean's Dip Party Pack, complete with mini-pretzel tin, dip trays, reusable bag, chip-clip, Dean’s flip-flops, stadium blankets, twister game-board and FREE Deans Pretzel Dip coupon.

How to Enter:  Giveaway now closed.  Comment on this post telling me which flavor of Dean's Pretzel Dip - Honey Mustard or Cheddar Cheese - that you want to try the most, as well as your favorite game that you love to play with your family. Giveaway open to US only.

Congratulations Jessica!

Just having a mommy moment....  Emilio is getting so BIG!  He is such a trouble maker but his smile gets me every time!  I just turn to mush.  The hard ass in me is no match for that twinkle in his eyes and the smirk in his smile.  Gotta love that little stinker!

Big G Monster Cereals Are HERE!! - Win a Monster Cereals Prize Pack including a Target gift card!

12:47 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

My kids love cereal, it is a staple in our household.  My two year old especially loves the sweet ones with marshmellows and fun shapes.  These days he can't get enough of cereal -he eats it morning, noon and night!  To satisfy his cravings I make sure to have a variety of cereals on hand at all times.  This week I am so excited because the Big G Monster Cereals are in stores now so I get to give him some classic spoonfuls of spooky fun, which I know he will love!

Each fall for over forty years fans go crazy for the Big G Monster Cereals.  You know the ones I'm talking about: Count Chocula, Boo Berry and Franken Berry.  For some families purchasing these spooky cereals is a tradition that has been celebrated for decades.  Being only 31, I can't remember a fall in my lifetime that I didn't see these cereals on the shelves.

New this year, the Monster Cereal boxes have a fresh new look.  They are the perfect way to get kids in the mood and thinking about all of the Halloween fun that is coming their way in just a few short weeks. The Monster Cereals combine chocolaty, blueberry and strawberry flavored cereal with colorful marshmallow shapes that kids and adults enjoy. Each serving of the playful, monster-themed cereals are low in fat with no cholesterol or saturated fat. Count Chocula, Boo Berry and Franken Berry are a good source of calcium, whole grain and nine other essential vitamins and minerals. Parents can take a bite and reminisce about the past and some kids, like mine, will be enjoying the Monster Cereals for the first time.

The Monster Cereals will only be available from September 26 through October 31st at your local Target store, retailing for approximately $1.99.

Share in the excitement! You can visit www.grocerysavvy.com to access fun Monster Cereals photos and desktop backgrounds!

Friends for Life

I've always had a lot of people in my life that I've enjoyed spending time with but who I know, ultimately, are friends due to circumstances (through school, work or mutual acquiantances) rather than being friends for life. That being said, I've also been really blessed because I have some friends that I call my "friends for life".

Many of my "friends for life" are people that I've known since we were children. We great up together, separating at one time or another because we went to different schools or moved to different cities. We got married, had children and got busy with life. But, despite all of these reasons to lose our relationships, it only reinforced why we are still friends.

The best thing about my "friends for life" is that, no matter what length of time passes or how circumstances change, we can pick up right where we left off. My friend J is a perfect example. We were best friends growing up, until we entered high school. We went to different schools, traveled in different social circles and eventually even moved away from one another. Despite all of these changes, whenever we spoke on the phone or saw one another, we'd catch up on what had happened (even if it involved years!) and pick up where we left off! A few years ago we ended up living relatively closely to one another and began spending a lot of time together. It is great because, even though we often went years without seeing one another, we have never stopped being friends!

These friends don't replace other friends that I have made, but I appreciate the fact that, no matter what happens, I know that these women accept me for who I am without judgement. We've seen one another through countless joys and tragedies. We've laughed together, cried together, vented to one another and, ultimately, never stopped loving each other.

My girls are my friends for life and, despite all that can happen, will never changed. I am a lucky woman!

Aloha Friday - Birthday Fun

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

[alohafriday.jpg]

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

How did you spend your last birthday?

Tomorrow is my 31st birthday. I still don't know what I am doing to celebrate.  One of my best friends son's 6th birthday party is at Chuck E. Cheese so part of my birthday will unfortunately be spent there.  The rest, who knows.  Last year for my thirtieth birthday I went all out and drank the night away.  I felt that it was only right that I end the twenties as drunk as I started them!  This year though, I want it to be a little more low key.  I can't decide if I want to go out with my friends or just go home so I'm just gonna play it by ear.

Wordless/Wordful Wednesday - Road Trip To Grandma's House - Old School Style!

1:49 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

A week ago I went on old school style family road trip with my parents and my brother to visit my 88 year old grandma.  She hadn't been feeling well so we didn't want to overwhelm her with my boys and my niece running around like banshees.  Before I went I wrote a post about how those trips used to go when I was little, pretty much it felt like time had stood still and my brother and I were kids again in the backseat while mom and dad stayed up front.  We each sat in our designated seats just as when I was growing up.  So of course I had to snap a few pics of the trip and the visit to grandma's house.

My big brother Bill

Me and my grandma

I set my camera to take this picture of all of us - my grandma was super confused and didn't understand what was happening!  You can tell by the look on her face!

My grandma loves to paint.  This is just a sampling of what her walls look like.  I have always wanted one of my grandma's paintings.  This trip I finally was able to take one home.  My brother too.  I love the landscape paintings the best.

This is the lovely painting that I snagged and now graces the entry of my home.  Its HUGE!  Also, its my favorite piece of art in the entire house.

Get Cozy Year Round With Next To Skin Soft Wool Apparel from Rambler's Way

1:13 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

One major reason that I love Fall and Winter is that I get to bring my favorite wool sweaters out of the closet and start wearing them again.   Even though I love them, and the way that they look, I have sensitive skin and they can be a bit itchy so I always have to wear a tank top underneath.  Wool is all ready so warm and heavy that I hate having to add a another layer underneath.  I live in the NW so it gets cold but not that cold!

I recently just found out about a new skin soft wool that can be worn year round!  This new wool is supposedly super fine and very soft on skin.  This extraordinary new wool is made by Rambler's Way.  Their worsted wool garments are soft and light weight, cool and warm equally so that the garments are comfortable to wear no matter what the season.  Rambler's Way has some great stuff for men and women that make you want to just cozy up and get comfy.

If I could go on a $200 shopping spree at Rambler's Way I would grab a Henley Long Sleeve, a Scoop Neck Short Sleeved Top and a Camisole.

Henley Long Sleeve $90

Scoop Neck Short Sleeve Top (Long) $75

Camisole $55

Rambler's Way has definitely changed my perspective on wool apparel.  I used to think that it had to be itchy, heavy and only worn in the cold.  I think that its really cool that Rambler's Way has found a way to create super skin soft wool that is versatile and can be worn all year round.  All of the wool clothing available looks so luxurious and yet it gives this vibe that if you wear it you will be wrapped in comfort.

Rambler's Way has cracked the comfy wool code and I can't wait to get my free sample of their wool in the mail.  If you want to experience the way the worsted wool feels before you buy, Rambler's Way offers free samples of the material so that you will know first hand exactly how soft the wool is before you purchase. I think that their garments would make great gifts for the impending holidays.

Enhance the Nutrisystem Menu with Wonderful Recipes Created by Members!

1:10 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

In previous posts about Nutrisystem I shared with you how Nutrisystem has some really awesome benefits in their online members community.  Not only is the community free to join but there are so many wonderful aspects to it that I am still learning to take advantage of.  One of the newest tools that I have discovered is the Recipe Club.

The Recipe Club shares members plan friendly adaptations of Nutrisystem entrees by turning them into delicious new meals options that you can create yourself.  I think that this is a really cool tool that is available when you start getting tired of the same old entrees and want to learn how to spice it up.  Plus it helps you get comfortable with learning how to create meals for yourself that use your favorite foods but still stick to with the plan.

Here are two recipes that I found that I really want to try.  They both sound so delicious!

Both of these recipes look quick, easy and delicious!  There are so many more too!  I am planning on printing out all of my favorites and making them into a small go to cookbook for myself.  Who knows?  Maybe I can even create a unique recipe myself one day!
