Claudia Olivos Art Giveaway!

From time to time I like to bring to your attention some fantastic artists that I come across on Etsy. Today is no exception! Claudia Olivos is a wonderful full time artist that hails from Chile, but currently lives in Arlington, Virgina. Claudia Olivos specializes in drawing, painting and collage/assemblage. Her paintings have been featured in several publications including on the cover of Coming Home by J. Pizarro, and on the cover of the CD, Octaves Beyond Silence featuring Eve Ensler and Indigo Girls, a CD made to benefit women survivors of violence in Rwanda, Bosnia & Afghanistan, and a book of Latin American Poetry (2007).

Not only is Claudia Olivos a fantastic artist but she also loves to teach her craft to those in her community. Whether it is teaching at risk youth or leading community workshops Claudia Olivos loves to share her love of art with others. She currently teaches at The Art League School in Alexandria, and is faculty at the Art Institute of Washington.

All of her work is original - made by her and signed by her. I love the style of her work. I love art that involves people and the everyday. Some of my favorites of her work are shown below.

I love this one because it reminds me of little Oscar as a baby. He had so much hair!





The paintings and prints that Claudia Olivos creates have a really whimisical, yet realistic feeling all at once. She offers beautiful mother and child, as well as other great art pieces that include children like those I featured above.
