Aloha Friday - Remembering Chewy

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

Has one of your family pets ever passed away? If so, what kind of animal was it and what was its name?

This is a picture of our dog that passed away exactly two years ago today. His name was Chewy and he was the sweetest, clumsiest rottweiler ever. He died from complications of the pet food recall. Oscar and I got him when he was only eight weeks old. He made us a family before we even had our children. He was great with our boys and loved them as much as we did. He only lived for seven short years, but he made a huge impact on our lives and in our hearts. Chewy will forever be missed.

Oh my gosh, that makes me so sad!! We have two dogs, and we have had our Chihuahua since 8 weeks old (she's only a year old now). But, if something happened to any of them, we would be so sad!!!!!

Aww...Chewy looks like a real sweetheart, sorry for your loss.

We've been without pets for a while, but I've lost a few over the years. The one that really sticks out is Chiquita, a dog we got as a puppy when I was 13 and lived with my mom until just a couple of years ago.

I'm sorry to hear about Chewy.. he looked like a good dog!
Fortunately i didn't had to have any animal pass away on me. Most of my cats were stolen and all of my dogs i had when i was a kid my parents never kept them more than half a year... i didn't even understand why they were getting me dogs if they weren't about to keep 'em. Anyway i am glad i didn't get to see any of them pass away!
Aloha!!!

I'm so sorry about Chewy :o(.

Yes, growing up our English Bulldog passed away, and then I had rabbits in college (started out with two, ended up with 4 more, and couldn't give them up!). They are all gone now. This is the hardest thing about pets, and it makes it hard for me to want another one, though I want my girls to experience all the great things about animals.
PS I gave you an award on my blog!
Aw, I'm sorry to hear about Chewy! He was a gorgeous dog!!

I did have a pet that passed away: His name was Max A Million (Max of Maxie for short) and he was a German Short Hair Pointer. He was my BABY and I was devastated when he died-Cried for MONTHS. That was actually almost 10 years ago!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday-I'll make sure to say an extra prayer for Chewy today :)

I lost my black lab 3 1/2 years ago. I got a new one last summer. While you cannot replace the original, you can comfort the hole in your heart.

When I was young we had three dogs and two cats. The dogs were Pepper, Honey and Ginger and the cats were Buddy and Lucky. They have all passed away. I have animals as an adult and we are lucky we have not yet had to bury any of them. I am hoping we still have several years before we have to do that. I am sorry about your dog. He was gorgeous.
My dog - she was a lab mix and her name was Alex. She was hit by a car. She was such a cool dog. I say she was a cat trapped in a dogs body! lol

I had a siamese cat named TJ (Thomas Jeffrey) when I was a senior in high school. Only pet I ever had, besides the zillion gold fish I killed. TJ was ran over by a car. We found him. It was AWFUL!

Growing up I had 3 dogs that all died when I was living at home. Tory was a poodle mix, BoJay was a miniature dachsund, and Maggie was a beagle dachsund mix. Thankfully Tory and Maggie we had for a while before they died. BoJay we only had a little while. Losing a pet is hard.

Aw, poor Chewy. Its even worse that it was that stupid food!

My old dog is still hanging in there. Her name is Vegas. And I have a very very old cat named Pumpkin. I will be lost without her.

I've never had a family pet long enough to lose them. I know that must be awfully difficult!
