Aloha Friday - Birthday Parties

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

What did you do to celebrate for the most recent birthday of one of your children?

Benji turned the big 5 yesterday! For his big party on last Sunday we celebrated it at a family fun center. There was bounce houses, mini golf, and a gigantic climbing structure. Think McDonald's play land times 20! All the kids had a blast! For his actual birthday we took him and Oscar to go see How to Train Your Dragon. It was a nice treat for the boys in the middle of the week, especially because we don't take them to the movies often.

The most recent was last October! Four of my kids birthdays are coming up in May, June, & July, and we're throwing my 13 yr. old daughter a sleepover at Embassy Suites. She's actually having her party with one of her friends and they are inviting about 8 of their friends!

But, back in October was my youngest birthday, and it falls on Halloween. We go to our church's Harvest Festival, and we also have save a spot in the cafe to decorate for her!
Well 3 of our kids are only weeks apart. We actually rented a cabin and went camping with the whole family. They loved it!

I don't have any kids yet, but for my nieces birthday I took her and a group of friends to Magic Mountain.
My youngest turned 23 last month and we gave her a gift card to her fave hair salon.

I don't have any of my own, but it was my nephew's birthday last month, he's now 13 and turning into a typical teenager and has asked to be taken to the wrestling next week.

Oooh, this is touchy for me. My oldest turned 5 in December, but we had just moved, so he didn't have friends here yet. So, we celebrated at home with just family. I still feel guilty for not having the big party that we thought we'd have before we knew we were going to move.

Sounds like a fun party & movie time.

My daughter turned 10 in Feb. She ends up with like 3 parties. One with her friends - we did at Michael's Craft store - where they all painted their own t-shirts.

One at my mother's & the next day we all went to The American Girl store in Massachusetts. She loves American Girl dolls.

And then with her other grandmother & they took everyone out to Pizza Hut.

TGIF!♥

We had a roller skating party for my son's 10th birthday. I think for #11 we're going to just have a friend sleep over.

This most recent birthday, we had a pretty "quiet" birthday for my son. We went to his favorite resaurant ( pizza, go figure) with just the immediate family. I am trying to "ration" the "big" parties. It was a great night.

Have a super weekend.

I can't even remember! LOL It's usually a simple affair over here with the meal of their choice and a few gifts. No parties anymore.
