Friends You Love - Guest Post Blog Hop #2! Meet Nolie from Nolie's Place

FriendsYouLove

Welcome to our second Friends You Love Blog Hop!

This month is about building friendships and making our existing friendships stronger...

We challenge you to dig into your "followers" list and find a follower you don't know well (someone who doesn't comment regularly) and reach out to them and ask them to do a guest post on YOUR blog. Link up with your guest post and have your new friend (guest poster) link up as well!

We will be running this blog hop every Monday this month, so spread the word, spread the love, and darn it, go make some new friends!

Nolie's Place Button

I had a blast last week with a guest post from my non blogger BFF and this week I am switching things up with a guest post from a new bloggy friend that I have recently made.  Her name is Nolie and her blog is called Nolie's Place.  Nolie is a 28 year old SAHM of a two year old boy.  She blogs about anything and everything.  Blogging started as hobby for her and she has met a ton of moms like herself that she has been able to connect with through her blog.  Read more about Nolie here.

Nolie's topic for her post that she has written is about knowing when to let friends go.  I think we all can relate to this.  At one point or another we have all had a friend that takes more than she gives and for the sake of our own sanity we have to say goodbye.

Please read her post and then check out her blog, Nolie's Place!

Friendship can be a wonderful thing, it can be trying at times but at other times it can be wonderful. Lately I have done a lot of thinking on friendship. I am not talking about someone you see at mutual places and talk to the odd time. I am talking actual real friendships. Friendships where you know that when the military tells you it is time to move that these people will still be a part of your life. Which brings us back to the title of this post. What is friendship?
To me friendship is….
  • being there for you and you being there for them
  • phone calls or emails just to say hi and see how things are going
  • knowing that if they tell you something it is the truth and you can trust their word
  • trusting them without having to question it
  • knowing that if life kicks you down they will be there for you
  • a two way street
  • a gift that one should cherish and protect
I could go on and on about friendship. I hold my friends very close to my heart. If I call you a friend you don’t know how lucky you have it. I will have your back and be there for you through thick and thin. I will fight your battles if you are worn out and can not fight them yourself. To me, my friends are considered family.
Today I had to say good-bye to a 15 year friendship. I won’t lie, it hurts and I am sad. I just could not do it anymore. I could not continue on with the silly excuses and the lies while trying to cover them up with other lies. I have so much crap going on in my life that I can not even write about just yet. My friends should be there for me. I am sorry if I expect too much from a friend. However I expect to get what I give when it comes to friendship.
I am going to leave it at that. I have wasted enough energy on it. So leave a comment and let me know… What does friendship mean to you?

Oh, Nolie -- see, I knew I was supposed to meet you. It's another karma moment. Friendship to me means all those things and more. I've let those long term and short term friendships go and it hurts like a beast, but it's better in the long run. Hugs to you and thanks for sharing and participating today!

True friendship means having someone on your side who has your interests at heart as much as their own and shares the same fears and aspirations as you.

And of course you're on their side with their interests at heart as well as your own, as well.

Oh, how sad that you had to say goodbye to a friend. Especially one that was a friend for 15 yrs. But sometimes, you just have to let go.

For me friendship can be many different things.

LOVED this post! To me, friendship is sacred, friendship with ME is hard to come by, because I will move flipping mountains for you once you become my friend.

I haven't had to cut a friend out of my life yet... I think it's because I'm so picky on who I choose. Family members... oh there's quite a few that I don't have contact with {even my sister}, but friends... I choose them! I would be extremely sad if one of the friends I chose to have in my life did something that I had to end the friendship, but I know that sadly it does happen.

Loved your post... heading over to check out your blog.
Visiting from the Blog Hops! I love your site. I can't wait to get to know you better. Stop by when you get the chance. I have a Meet Me Monday blog hop and I would love if you could join in. Its the first thing posted on my site.

I've had to let go of my fair share of friendships over the years. Some were toxic, some just weren't putting in the same effort. Any way you look at it, it is necessary but difficult.

It's hard to say goodbye to friends but I have to say I have said goodbye to many more than one!
