Sesame Street USB Drive That Includes A Movie, Photo Storage and More! - Review and Giveaway

ATP Electronics and Sesame Street have joined forces and created a cute, functional and fun way for parents to allow their kids to share photos, videos and documents on the go.  The USB drive is perfectly disguised as your child's favorite Sesame Street character and conveniently attaches to bags or personal items and can even be worn as a bracelet.

Each USB drive comes with a video that is centered around that particular Sesame Street character.  The video is a compilation of clips and songs featuring the character.  The movie is great because its fun and interactive - plus it can't ever be mistakenly erased!  The USB drive contains extra storage space for up to 400 photos and can also hold home videos and personal documents.  It's a small and compact way to take learning and personal files on the go.

The Review

I was given the Cookie Monster USB drive for review.  I love the design, it is so adorable!  The rubber that surrounds and protects the USB drive is very soft which adds to the ease of wearing it on your wrist.  The elastic cord that connects the top and bottom pieces is very flexible and strong, it can be worn on adult or child size wrists without any problem.  However, the loops on the side where the cords are attached, all be it they are strong now, I'm not so sure that they could withstand a ton of pulling and tugging before the rubber would break apart.  I have three boys that break just about everything the touch so I tend to look at the durability of things like this.  I'm pretty sure that I could break it if I pulled hard enough but obviously I want to keep it intact so I'm not going to try.  Other than that small detail I think that protective casing is cute and clever.

My boys love the Cookie Monster so they were eager to see the video.  Even my 7 year old got pulled away from his homework to check out what his little brothers were watching.  I made a quick video that showcases a little bit of what you will get if you bought the Cookie Monster USB drive.

As you can see from the video, my boys were completely sucked in by Cookie Monster.  My two year old thought that it was the coolest thing ever.  He was so excited while he was watching it.  A couple hours later he asked to watch it again.  It kept him entertained for quite awhile.  I will admit, he did try to figure out ways to mess with my computer while he was watching it but he wasn't able to do anything that messed with the function of the video, which believe me, he tried.

As for the wearable factor of this product I would say that it wouldn't be a great idea for two, maybe even three year olds, and younger.   Personally I would worry about where they would take it if they got really comfortable with carrying it around with them.  I know that my little guy likes to hide or throw away items that are this small and some I never find.  Obviously with something of this nature I would recommend only putting copies of files on the USB and keeping permanent files on a separate drive.  That way if for some reason it was lost or stolen you wouldn't be kicking yourself that there were precious memories stored on it that weren't retrievable.

Overall I think that the Sesame Street USB drives would make a great gift for kids that love Sesame Street, or ones that for some strange reason have never seen it.  Because let's face it, Sesame Street is mesmerizing.  It was when I was a kid and it still is today.  For more information about this product and to see all the videos that are available please visit www.sesamestreetusb.com.
