Lose Weight Together and Save, Nutrisystem Has Family Plans Now - Plus our first vlog

This month Nutrisystem kicked off their brand new family plan!  Now those that live together can gain substantial savings when dieting together.  Each person can still create their own individualized profile in the online community and take advantage of the tools available for keeping track of weight loss goals.

Recent survey results from the Nutrisystem Diet IndexTM+ reinforce the importance of a strong support system to help ensure success when losing weight. In fact, more than 60% of the people surveyed felt they would be more successful on their diet if they were joined by a significant other.  - taken from press release

I completely agree with the findings of the Nutrisystem Diet Index.  I have been eating Nutrisystem meals for the last three months and by my own admission I had the hardest time following the plan at dinnertime because my husband was home then and I had to make dinner for him, which didn't include sticking to the plan.  I have trouble with will power and the temptation to not eat what I was serving him was just too great.  No matter how well I stuck to the plan for breakfast and lunch all my hard work went out the window at dinnertime.

This last week Oscar joined me on my Nutrisystem journey.  Its a little more work for me only because I have to make the time to pack his breakfasts and snacks so he can eat them at work.  Thankfully he comes home for lunch so I don't have to pack that too!  I also had to learn what he needed to eat on the Men's plan versus what I eat on the Women's plan.  He basically gets the same thing but he gets an additional carb at breakfast and dinner and an extra snack during the day.

I have to say that this has been my best week ever on the plan.  It has helped me tremendously to know that we are doing it together.  It has been so awesome to see him take the program seriously and really make the changes necessary to succeed.  By seeing him make those changes I have found that I am less likely to cheat because I know that we are in it together.  He grabs a water, so I grab a water.  Last week he would grab a soda and I would too because I just couldn't help myself.  I couldn't stand to see him drink what I wanted right in front of me and not have it.  We are making better choices together and it feels great!

I have also been taking advantage of the community tools and trying to cook dinners for us that use the Nutrisystem entrees but alter them so that they are more freshly prepared than just eating something right out of a box.  I have to say that the recipes I have tried so far have turned out great.  I even created one that I will be sharing next week!

Below is our very first vlog about doing Nutrisystem together.

The Nutrisystem Family Plan allows one family member to join Nutrisystem and when the second family member in the same household joins, at the same time, that member will then receive the best current Nutrisystem offer plus additional exclusive savings on their order. Great to see you and Oscar working together towards your goals. Wishing you both lots of luck. (BTW, so unfair that men get more food! I've always hated that, but it's because they typically have more muscle mass than women.)

Good luck on your weight loss journey. I've been needing to do this myself (wanting to loose about 30 lbs) and maybe if I see another's success it would help motivate me. Keep us posted!

I appreciate all you've written about your Nutrisystem weight loss journey. Not only is it inspiring but I know how hard it is to not only lose weight (I've lost 60lbs this year myself) but to put yourself out there like that! Keep it up!

This is an inspiring post! I have yet to lose give or take 20lbs and the hardest part is when your fam or your partner is not on the journey with you!
