Wordless/Wordful Wednesday - Easter Egg Fun!

Believe it or not I have never attempted to dye Easter eggs with my kids. Which is pretty crazy considering my oldest is almost 8. We have always been way too busy on the day of with family engagements or work so it didn't happen. This year was a little different because we moved and we decided not to go visit my in-laws and just enjoy being home alone with our boys.

I was really excited to dye the eggs except I realized the day of that I was missing vinegar for the dye. Our eggs came out a muted pastel color because we just used water. I had a monster kit with different stickers and things to decorate the eggs with and the boys had a lot of fun - when they weren't breaking the eggs on accident that is.

We had about five casualties but finally came up with a few good ones to share. Here they are!

Emilio's Egg

Benji's Egg

Oscar's Egg

My Egg

I can't believe you have never dyed eggs before! We ALWAYS do it the evening before Easter! We only dyed a dozen this year, usually we do more but since I hadn't been out of the house in almost a week, we only had a dozen to spare!
LOL I love that last egg!

I always wondered what would happen to the eggs if you didn't use vinegar. They still turned out great though!

Very cute! I haven't dyed eggs in ages :) We used to dye them in onion peels when I was little.

I am a horrible mother for not dyeing eggs with the kids this year. I have eaten alot of chocolate eggs though....that counts right?

The eggs turned out GREAT! And at least you did them - I boiled the eggs, then we totally forgot all weekend to do the coloring. :)
