Aloha Friday - Camping Pretty Pink Momma Style

[alohafriday.jpg]

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

Do you and your family go camping?  If so, how do you do it?  Do you pitch tents, use an RV, go to campgrounds or just your back yard?

We just became the proud owners of a tent trailer.  And its AWESOME.  It's so awesome that I'm not even sure that you can call it real camping.  It has two king beds, a private toilet/shower combo, a furnace, stereo that I can plug my iPod into, refrigerator, stove, oven and micowave.  I love having the bathroom only because if we do go to a campground with a yucky bathroom or no bathroom then we can have somewhere sanitary to do our "business".  Which is important when you have little kids in my opinion.  We plan on visiting some campgrounds nearby to get started and then move on to some a bit further away and make more of a trip out of it.

We bought it also to have place to "camp out" so to speak when we visit my in-laws or when anyone comes to visit us.  Its private and I know that my Dad will especially appreciate it when he comes to visit.  He likes to have a kid free zone that he can retreat to and our current house doesn't have one of those!  Heck, maybe I will use it as my kid free zone and keep it up in the driveway!

oh a tent trailer!! LUCKY DUCK!! My husband really wants to save up for an RV. He wants to travel the country with the kids in the back!

We are not campers yet. Josh sure is, I'm not really, but I put up with it to be with him. He wants to take us camping when the kids get a bit older.

I haven't been camping in ages. But when I used to go, I always slept in a tent on the ground, no matter who I went with!
No camping here, unless you count a hotel or resort room ;)

I'm not a camping person at all! A few years ago, our family slept in tents at a lake where my in-laws were spending some time. That was my first and last time I ever want to camp! We have friends who have a camper and take their family out camping many times throughout the year. They have a blast and it is a fun family activity for them. It's just not for me.

I love to camp! Our family camped every year - a week-and-a-half in the mountains, a week-and-a-half at the ocean (nice that either option was quick and easy to get to from the Seattle area). :) My parents had a trailer that we all camped in, but when us kids got older we were relegated to a tent so my parents could have the trailer all to themselves. ;) As we got older, us kids camped with our friends - all tents, all the time.

I'm still trying to convince my hubby that camping is fun - maybe if we got a tent trailer he'd be more inclined to do so! ;)

My kids use to pitch tents in the backyard with the neighbor kids. They still talk about it. Imagine staying up all night in a tent in the backyard with tons of food, videos and a Playstation. :)

Have a great Friday!

I wish. My husband refuses to sleep on the ground. Sometimes I'll pitch a tent in the backyard with the kids but it's getting small for us now.

Not a camper, we usually go for hotels or private huts.
We just started going camping with our kids last year - tent camping, though a trailer someday would be really nice.
I have never been camping. I went on a camping trip with friends once and everyone camped, except my boyfriend and I. We stayed in a hotel, lol. Lame, I know. I think it would be fun to take my kids one day, but after a day or two I think I'd be ready to come home. Now, a cabin in the woods? I'm all for that :)

We don't go camping. I hope we will get to go sometime.
We haven't done the family camping trip yet. I'm sure when we do it will be a huge tent!
