I am back! After a week away in San Francisco it is great to be home! I missed so much while I was gone so a ton of catch up is in order. All though I was happy to get my space and some much needed adult time I missed my kids like mad. Milestones galore happened while I was gone and all this in just one week!
Oscar had his 6th birthday on Sunday August 2, the day before we left. So we started our vacay still reeling from his awesome birthday party at the local kids party place. The kids had a great time in the bounce houses, huge jungle gym and playing lazer tag. Not to mention all of the arcade games. It was a great time for all of us.
While we were gone Oscar managed to lose his third tooth. So we of course had to explain the whole tooth fairy thing to my mother-in-law. She knew of it but never did it with her kids. I still haven't figured out where she put Oscar's tooth - I think she kept it for us...
Emilio learned how to stand up all on his own. On top of that, he has really dramatically improved his walking abilities. When I left he could barely make a step or two without falling down. Now, he can go for anywhere from six to ten - a huge improvement. I'm a little sad, sniff sniff, that I missed these huge moments for him. Why is it that they want to do all the cool stuff when I am not there? Oh, and he started to grow in two more teeth on the bottom. A whole new boy I came home to, I tell ya.
Thankfully my Benji didn't change much. My biggest disappointment with Benji was that he just didn't really seem to care when I phoned him from San Francisco. I know that he probably did but he would get on the phone and literally say "What do you want? I'm busy!" Oh well, at least I knew that he was having a great time without me. That was comfort enough.
As for me, I still have a ton of unpacking to do. Talk about busy! That part is my least favorite part of vacation. I wish I had a magic wand that could do it for me. I will probably be living out of those suitcases for the next couple weeks until I have used everything that I need.
Another big event is that my parents are leaving! They have been staying with us for over a month and all though I am sad to see them go, I am also thankful that the time has come for our family to get things settled back into the normal swing of things. Very thankful.
I am looking forward to getting back into the normal swing of things blog wise too. I have a few reviews and a few giveaways that are set up for this week. I have been pretty lazy this last month so its time to get my butt in gear and into my regular blog posting frenzy. I missed all of my bloggy friends and look forward to catching up on all of your blogs.
TTFN!
