MJM Books Review and Giveaway! Personalized Books Made Just for Your Kid!

Now that Oscar is 6, he is learning to read. At times it can be pretty frustrating for him. He wants to learn so badly but gets way too upset when he reads the words incorrectly. As his mom I want him to love reading and enjoy his knew found skills. Keeping him interested in it long enough for him to learn much more than he all ready knows is the hard part. That's why I was thrilled when I received the opportunity to review one of the personalized story books created by MJM Books.

MJM Books, founded by three innovative brothers - Mike, Jeff and Matt, publishes unique children's books that are loved by parents and kids alike. MJM Books has three creatively different stories to choose from and they all star your child! What makes MJM Books stand apart from other personalized books is that not only can you customize the character's name but the character's looks too. I love that the child will truly feel that the story was made for them because the main character is really designed with them in mind. Below is a picture of Oscar as compared the character in the book we chose.

One thing that I thought definitely made the book stand out was special customized message that you can write for the child. I gave Oscar the book that I chose for him, A Day at the Park, for his 6th birthday. I was able to write him a special birthday message so he will always remember why the book was given to him and it will hopefully become a special keepsake for him. Below is a picture of Oscar reading his birthday message.

One thing that really impressed me about the MJM Books site is the excellent customer service. When I was ordering Oscar's book I made a mistake in the message. Instead of "Happy 6th Birthday Oscar Love Mommy and Daddy" I wrote, "Happy 6th Happy Birthday Oscar Love Mommy and Daddy". I must have been tired because I didn't even notice the mistake when I proof read it before placing my order. I noticed it directly after my order was placed. Which of course sent me into a panic that I screwed up this really cool gift. I emailed customer service with my order# and told them of my mistake. Shortly thereafter I received an email from them telling me that it was not a problem and they would correct my mistake. Not only was I impressed with the level of customer service I had received but very thankful that is was a simple fix.

As I mentioned, the book I chose for Oscar was A Day at the Park. This book is about a wild day of imagination and pretend while playing on the jungle gym at the park. It is only one of three books available from MJM Books. The other two are If I Were Big and What Animal Are You? If I Were Big is about a child growing so big they can even be seen from outerspace. What Animal Are You? is about a child discovering the animal within making some new friends along the way. All three of the vibrant books are full of creativity and illustrated by different authors, ensuring that each story is kept artistically unique from the others. You can learn more about each illustrator and their style when visiting the MJM Books website.

The greatest selling point for these special books is that you can virtually flip through and read each story page for page before purchasing. You can see first hand exactly what each story will look like and imagine your child as the star of the story. That way you can decide which story fits your child's personality the best. This was my absolute favorite part about checking out the MJM Books site. I love Oscar's book so much that I want to get a story for each of my other boys. I also think that this is going to be my new "go to" gift for all children I know that are old enough to enjoy being the star of their very own story.

I loved this book but it really wasn't up to me, it was up to Oscar. We have read it together several times now and he loves it too. He enjoys reading the birthday message and I can tell that it makes him feel special. He is working hard to learn the bigger words in the story that aren't as familiar to him as the sight words he all ready knows. This book has been a great tool for him to push himself while learning to read. A definite thumbs up from both of us!

I encourage any parent, grandparent or anyone that has a child that is special to them, to check out the personalized story books that MJM Books has to offer. These books would be a fantasic birthday, Christmas or just because gift. It is incredibly easy to customize a story for any child. I found the site super easy to navigate and the checkout process a breeze. Customize a story for your child for only $15.95 today!

I like Day at the Park because my kids love to go to the park. As it is over 100 degrees here today, this would be fun to have on days it is too hot to go to the park.

I like a day at the park because it is about being brave, which is something that my son could use a teensy bit more of. I think this book would help him out... plus he loves playing outside!

I like what animal are you. We have a long standing joke in our family about being gorillas. So this book reminds me of that.
