Aller-Ease Giveaways Galore! Visit the Flip for Fall Circle and See What I Look Like!

That's right! I was so excited to be a part of the Flip for Fall Challenge that I decided to finally reveal myself. The catch is, you will have to visit the Flip for Fall circle to see my picture. Now you will finally know the face behind the blog, and see what I really look like. While your there you may as well submit your tips! Read further to see how you can win Aller-Ease product that will help you Flip for Fall in your house too.

A couple things we do in our house...

As I have mentioned in a previous post, Aller-Ease, the maker of allergen filtration bedding, has partnered up with TheMotherhood for their Flip for Fall Challenge. This campaign is all about sharing your tips for fighting indoor allergies as well as showing Aller-Ease how you prepare your home for the Fall and Winter seasons. Even if you don't realize it you probably do certain things like changing your bedding or your home decor to get ready for this change. For example, I know one thing that I always do is change from my light weight down comforter to my heavy one.

To help ease the suffering of indoor allergies at our house one of the things that we have done is to install a germicidal ultra violet light in our heating and cooling system. Ultraviolet technology is used to safely sanitize the air for the last 75 years. Scientists have been tapping into the power of UV for since 1903. The germicidal UV cleanser that I have installed shines 800 times brighter than the sun, and as an energy saving device the it uses less power than a night light. It effectively kills all DNA based microorganisms. This helps prevent the spread of bacteria, mold, funguses and viruses. All of these can trigger allergic reactions in people of all ages. Symptoms are itchy eyes, runny noses, headaches and tiredness, even asthma, hay fever and chronic bronchial infections. All of these can be the consequences of a dirty air duct system.

We had ours installed in February of this year and we have noticed a huge difference in our mornings. Prior to the cleaning of our ducts and the UV light, last Fall and Winter, we would all wake up so stuffy and just icky feeling. Everyday without fail, I felt so sick. The day would go on and I would feel better. Then once again in the morning I would feel all stuffed up again. This was happening to my husband and oldest son too. Now when we wake up we don't have those symptoms any more. It has improved our breathing 100%.

We also changed to an electrostatic filter for our furnace, just like the one in the picture to the right. This filter is amazing. We don't need to continually purchase new paper liners. We simply pull it out and rinse it clean once a month. This is something that we defintely do in our home to Flip for Fall. An electrostatic filter cleans the air by using static electricity to trap the attracted airborne particles that are held by the static charge. They are released when the filter is washed. It traps dust, pollen and airborne pollutants within the static fibers. I have really noticed a difference in the amount of dust that I have around the house. I still have dust, that's for sure, but it doesn't seem to add up as quickly as it did before. Dust, and dust mites, are a huge contributor to allergy problems.

I will posting a video soon sharing with you all how I Flip for Fall. I will also include in this post a whole bunch more of my tips. A huge thank you goes out to Aller-Ease for providing our home with 2 Deluxe standard pillows with zippered covers, 2 more Deluxe pillow covers and one King size mattress protector. I will definitely be showing these off in my Flip for Fall video, so stay tuned...

one of the biggest thing we do is take care of the windows- by that washing the drapes and cleaning the blinds and windows. If you can take off the blinds and hose them down and use dawn to deslime and dedust. Clean windows and check seals and get ready for mr iceman to come knocking

In the fall I do a complete cleaning of window washing, flipping the mattresses, clean out closets and dresser drawers and do a good cleaning of the entire house using disinfectant. I always keep a can of disinfectant handy in the bathroom and kitchen as well as wipes that I use to wipe the phone, taps and door handles.

We do alot around her for fall but one of my favorite tips to share is to have a list of every room in your house...(Guest bathroom, Downstairs closet, Pantry, Kitchen, Family Room etc.) Once you have cleaned it top to bottom, check it off and add the date completed. It takes me about a month to get through the entire house but I am also sorting and organizing besides just cleaning. It is so rewarding to see the list completed. I try to to this twice a year to keep me sane from all the dust and dirt a family can bring to the house.
Tammy B said…
Outide Flip for Fall:

Plant bulbs, clean gutters, cut back shrubs and dead head all the plants, organize the garage so that everything fits back in nicely after the summer, hang up bikes and cover all the outdoor furniture with covers to help protect them during the winter.
Tammy B said…
Another thing we do to Flip for Fall is to go through all the kids clothes and toys. We donate or hand down clothes to friends in need. We donate all the toys the kids have grown out of or do not want anymore and donate them to a clothing bank where my MIL works.

We do a spring cleaning in the fall. cleaning the carpets and drapes helps our allergies out a bit and freshens up the house before we close it up for the winter.

Heard of Spring Cleaning? Well, round here we do Fall Cleaning. Gotta get the house nice and spiffy since we spend most of the winter cooped up in it. We do the typical weatherizing, scubbing, yard work, so on. When everything is finished we light a fire in the fireplace and bring on the hot cocoa.

I flip the mattresses, then treat them with Febreze allergan removing spray. (I love this stuff, and use it in my weekly cleaning.)

Every week of course I change and wash sheets, but in spring and fall I wash all the other linens...curtains, bed skirts, throws, and pillows, using fragrance-free hypoallergenic laundry detergent, of course.

I Febreze (allergan removing spray) everything that can't be fit into the wash machine, including sofa, love seat, seat cushions, etc.

In the fall we do a cleaning that is very similar to spring cleaning on our home. That way when it is time to close the house up for winter there are less allergens, dust etc.
It truly helps all of our allergies throughout the winter months.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.

This is the time of year that I service my Matresses all over the house. First, I vacuum both sides of Matress and top of boxspring. Then, I use Lysol Spray and I spray the matress until it is damp. I leave the matress off the bed until it is completely dry(about an hour.) Then I flip it over put a new matress cover on it. I do this to each matress set in the house every spring and fall.
