Goodbye Ebay Hello Mommy Auctions!

11:39 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Like everyone else I have a ton of baby clothes and gifts that I have received and I have been struggling with what to do to get rid of them. I have thought about Ebay but the whole process seems too complex and then there is Craigslist but then you have to arrange a place to meet sometimes you are not even sure if anyone is reading your post. Then I found Mommy Auctions. This is a site for moms to buy and sell strictly baby and mom stuff. There is no charge to list an item or to even start your own store if you have niche item that you like to sell in particular. The fee you will pay is 5% of whatever you sell. Of course you do have the option to pay little extra if you want to feature your item. If you are looking for something you can also put an ad in the wanted section for free too. One of the best things about this site I think is that if you have problems or have never tried to run an online store before there are moderating moms that can help you and answer your questions to help ensure that you have a great experience. Once I get all my stuff together that I want to sell I am definitely going to try this site out. If you have used this site before and would like to share your experience please comment. Happy Selling!

Help Your Little Ones Keep Track of Time

11:41 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Now that Christmas is over I can get back to blogging without the impending feeling that my head will explode from all the Christmas chaos. During the holidays I seem to have horrible time management so I thought that it would be great to teach the kids so they can help me out. Just kidding- I'm pretty sure keeping me on track is their last priority. I first saw the Time Tracker by Learning Resources on Supernanny. Jo Frost had actually used it for a visual as well as an audio timeout timer, which I thought was a novel idea. Currently I just use a kitchen timer and my 5 and 3 year old wait for the bell to ring as their cue that Time Out is over. While researching this product I discovered that parents have been also using it as a visual aid for their kids to learn how to keep track of time. For the most part parents were thrilled at how this worked well to get their children to transition from one task to the next. It seemed that some parents did have issues with the programming and think that it could be a little easier use. The three colors indicate an 80/15/5 ratio of time. So while the timer is in green mode kids know that they still have plenty of time to lollygag around. When it turns to yellow they better get moving and thinking about the next task and red means that the time is going to be up really quick. I am really thinking about purchasing this timer because my kids are always finding ways to stall and I think that this timer will really help them learn to transition from one task to the next more smoothly. My 3 year old is really into things like this and I think that he will absolutely love it. It will cost you $40 if you buy it from ToysRUs but I found it on Amazon for only $25.44 plus shipping.

Whether You are Craft Challenged or a Craft Expert This is for You

10:34 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

If you are like me I am sure that you have wondered at least a time or two "That is so cute and simple I wonder how they make that?" Well, I discovered this awesome site YouCanMakeThis.com a few weeks ago. It was created by a stay at home mom that wanted to create a place where normal everyday women could go to learn how to make items for their homes and families. YouCanMakeThis.com has step by step instructions for many projects that have easy to follow E-Books with pics that guide you through the entire process so that even the most "craft challenged" person could learn to create awesome stuff. They also have simple and easy projects for kids to do as well. I also wanted to let you know that they have two exciting promotions going on right now that are great for this season. YouCanMakeThis.com is currently spreading the word about their $75 free bundle package when one signs up to be on the newsletter list. For each new sign-up, that person receives 1 online YCMT episode on “Making Initial Tees”, as well as 8 ebooks on a variety of subjects- all for free! It is a bundle package worth $75. YouCanMakeThis.com is also thrilled to announce a 2nd NEW newsletter, all dedicated to the world of sewing. It is called the, “You Can Sew This!” newsletter. Those who subscribe to this will also receive 5 free, exclusive projects to download. Their newest newsletter is for the crocheters and knitters.
One of the most awesome things about this site is if you are really experienced at a particular craft they offer a Designer-Author program where you can share your skills in an E-book of your own and earn money for yourself. I think that this site is one of the coolest things for moms that really want to learn how to make great stuff for gifts or even to start a new mompreneurship. Please check out this site you will not regret it!

Pedoodles are the Hottest New Baby Shoe

5:55 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I have recently come across Pedoodles. What may you ask are Pedoodles? They are super fun and cute leather baby shoes designed perfectly for the development of little feet. These leather shoes have a velco ankle strap to keep them in place which I think is really great and much better than elastic. I always worry that the elastic squeezes my chubby little guys feet too much. They also have a really great flat rubber soles that naturally flex and form to your child's changing feet. These awesome shoes are available from birth all the way up to 4 years old! Many of these shoes are also eco friendly and the soles are made from recycled rubber. The price for a pair will run you $26-$36 depending upon the size that you need. To check out all the fantastic styles please check out the Pedoodles website.

Have Diapers Delivered to Your Door for Free

11:47 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

As a mother of three, two of which are still in diapers, I was happy to learn about Diapers.com . This site is a great site for those of us who go through a ton of diapers. Not only do they sell diapers but formula, baby food, toys, anything that you can think of relating to babies and moms that are absolute neccessities. As long as you order at least $49 worth of product the shipping is free! On top of that once you sign up you will receive a code for $10 off of your first order. This site also works great for word of mouth discounts too. Once you sign up you are given a referral code and every time that someone uses your code to buy diapers you will recieve $1 off of your next diaper.com order. The first time that person orders they will recieve $10 you will recieve $1 towards your order not just the first time they order but every time they order! I ordered yesterday and my order is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, which in my opinion is super fast - especially this time of year. The prices are comparable to what you would pay at the grocery store but worth the $1 more you might pay for the conveinence. Even if you just order once you cant beat the $10 discount that you would recieve on your first order. They also accept manufacturer coupons. It is also well worth it if you can get referrals. If there are any fellow mommas that would like to try this site out please use my referral code which is prettypink and then let me know what you think.

Surfs Up!

9:37 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Brittany from London L Surf emailed me and turned me on to her new boutique. London L Surf creates custom monogrammed surf boards for children to either use or just to hang as wall decor in their rooms. There are 30 different designs to choose from. I thought it was a really cool idea and would be a very unique and personal gift. The boards vary in different shapes and sizes and range in price from $650 - $950. One of my favorites is the Mason design shown here, but to check out any of the other awesome designs visit London L Surf.

A New Twist on the Tooth Fairy Pillow

8:05 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I have been on the lookout for a great tooth fairy pillow for my sons' for some time now. It has been a real challenge to find a pillow that is cute but manly in some way. I personally grew up with a pillow that hung on to my bed post at night with my tooth tucked safely away in the pocket. In my search I have come across this unique alternative from Danforth Pewter. It is a lead-free pewter Tooth Fairy Truck Box for $22. I kinda like this idea... The back of the truck opens up for the tooth to be placed in. They also have a tractor, star, heart or baby chick box if you don't like the overnight delivery truck. Each box has matching pewter keepsake items like plates and cups that can be purchased as well. To check out the rest of their collections click here.

Legwarmers for babies - Too Cute!

11:25 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

In all my searches of through tons of boutiques I have discovered time and time again, Babylegs. The idea is simple yet fantastic all at once. Babylegs are little legwarmers for babies. They cover the babies legs while crawling to protect tiny legs from rashes, weather or even just to make a diaper change a little easier by avoiding pants. This cute idea was spawned by a mom looking to cover her daughter's knees while crawling and to prevent rashes. She got so many comments from other moms she starting making them and selling them out of her diaper bag. Now she sells them all over the world. Every chic boutique has to have them because I have literally found them in most every boutique. There are over one hundred different designs and range in price from $7-12, which I think is very reasonable. In addition to covering your baby legs they are also advertised as a great gift for teenagers to cover their forearms. Pretty Cool. Find your favorite pair by going to their website and buying direct from Babylegs.com

Pee Blocking Apron - yeah!

5:26 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

The other night as I was giving my 5 month old a bath I realized that I really need to cover myself with something to armor against all the splishing and splashing. This apron would have also worked out nicely in those early bathtime days when getting peed on was my son's favorite ritual. To solve this dilemma I have recently discovered a gal that makes really cute aprons. I wish I had found her site sooner. She makes really cute skirt aprons, full aprons, kids aprons, maternity, pet bathing and my personal favorite - baby bathing aprons. These aprons are designed by Corline at Over the Top Aprons. The Baby Bathing Apron is in a pink and white chenile and goes for $36.

Felt - Not so tacky after all

10:33 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

So for many years I have given felt a bad wrap. I just thought that it wasn't very useful for anything unless you were in preschool and learning to glue. However, recently I have since changed my mind and have decided to give felt a chance. Mostly because I have discovered the art of felt food. I came across this brilliant idea only a couple of weeks ago even though I know that it has been around for ages. I guess I just did not realize that it could be so cute! I wish that I had some mad skills and could create felt food on my own but I think that I would be stuck with making a lot of cherries - only cause they seem easy, I have never actually tried to make one. Anyways, my feature find is yet another cool Etsy shop, Bug Bites Play Food. My three faves are the Smores for $10 (probably cause I love them!), Pancakes Eggs and Bacon Breakfast Set with Strawberry for $25 and the Orchard Fruit set for $42.

3 - 2 - 1 Blastoff!

10:33 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I found something totally fun for the older kiddies. A really cool Rocketship Playhouse, for $78, is ready to be decorated by your little ones. Environmentally friendly, this playhouse is made of recycled, sturdy cardboard. This awesome play idea comes from Giggle, a store for new parents. Giggle claims to have researched and found all the best stuff that new parents will need for their new babies. Each product is evaluated using the Giggle criteria. The criteria is pretty extensive and they definitely have just about everything under the sun that a new parent would want to look at. There are a ton of modern and also contemporary items to choose from. My fave though is the rocketship.

Hey Baby, What's Your Sign?

9:03 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

To answer the most frequently asked question of mommas about their baby I found these cute zodiac bodysuits online at the Gap. Because they display the dates of their particular sign you will simply have to point to the shirt when asked "How old is your baby?" They are 100% cotton, with lapped shoulders and long sleeves. They display an adorable little animal character to cooridinate with the baby's sign as well as a brief description of the attributes associated with that sign. For the most part I think that they are unisex. They are on sale for $4.99 (an awesome buy in my opinion) and are available up to the 24 month size. I picked up the Cancer Crab for my little guy. Here is a link to check them out for yourselves at Gap.com
