Tropicana Juicy Rewards = Affordable Family Fun!

9:53 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I wanted to share one last post with you regarding the Tropicana Juicy Rewards program. Last week I shared with you the discounts I earned at Massage Envy using my Juicy Rewards and the other day I saved 300 square feet of rainforest by donating my Juicy Rewards points. So, basically I rewarded myself with a massage, the planet and those that inhabit it with more rainforests - now it was time to reward my family.

I was able to use my Juicy Rewards to receive discounts at our local family fun center. We were able to save by enjoying one complimentary mini golf or bounce house pass when we purchased one of equal or greater value. The discount only cost one point, which left the other two points available for donation to save the rainforests. For us this is an awesome way to redeem our points because we take advantage of both the mini golf and the bounce houses. My boys love it and they had such a great time running around and playing.

Well - see for yourself how much fun was had!

Take advantage of those rewards points! Its great to be able to save money on fun family activities that we would spend money on anyways! Saving the extra for the mini golf and the bounce houses gave us more to spend on arcade coins and pizza, which made it a well rounded, super fun day.

Save the Rainforest Using Your Tropicana Juicy Rewards!

11:03 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I have had a ton of fun learning all about how Tropicana's Juicy Rewards can save me some money towards family activities, home improvement and so much more! I especially enjoyed receiving that discount towards a phenomenal massage from Massage Envy. That was a reward within in a reward!

A few of you have shared with me some of your Juicy Rewards codes so that I can benefit from the discounts because you claim that you won't be using them. One reward option that I really wanted to share is something that everyone in the world can benefit from. Using your Juicy Rewards you can actually redeem your points towards saving the rainforest.

I was so moved by this that I wanted to donate 9 of my Juicy Rewards points in exchange for saving 300 square feet of rainforest. It feels so great to give back for doing absolutely nothing other than buying OJ. Turn your Juicy Rewards into rewards for the planet and all of us that inhabit it. To inspire you to redeem your codes I have put together a video showcasing just how easy it is to redeem your codes, earn points and donate them to the rainforest cause.

So please, I urge you, if you don't think that you are going to redeem your codes please rethink it and do it for the rainforests. Its so simple and will only take a moment of your time.

Thanks so much and keep redeeming those codes!

Aloha Friday - Beauty Products

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

What are some of your must have, can't live without beauty products?

I can't live without my Bare Minerals makeup and I love my Arbonne face wash, all though I have been out of it for a little while - but I'm dying to get some more! I also need my Anastasia Brow tint and my favorite hand cream is Neutrogena.

I Finally Found the Solution for Organizing My Life! You Gotta Check Out CasaBlast!

Photobucket

I would love if you want to help spread the word about Video Thursday and participate. Just grab the Video Thursday button on my sidebar and post one of your favorite videos, either personal or one circulating around the web. Don't forget to link up so I can check out your video!

I’m going to doing something a little bit different for this week’s edition of Video Thursday. Normally I don’t replace this feature with a product review but because this product in particular could be very helpful for parents everywhere I wanted to share it.

Busy Mom Pictures, Images and Photos

In previous posts I have shared with everyone that it’s not a big secret that I have been looking for a way to organize my life. Between the kids appointments, my appointments, bill due dates, blog review campaigns and related due dates – I’m a mess. It can be pretty hectic for one person to handle the day to day schedule for five people, especially if one of those five people is me. I have so many responsibilities between home, work and family that at times I just stop and live on the couch for a day just to cope with the fact that I will never be as perfect as I wish that I was. You would probably laugh if you saw all of the sticky notes, To Do lists, day planners, calendars and bulletin boards that I have set up. I love using those visual reminders, because I need them, but to be honest it has gotten way out of control. In fact, now all the visuals just make me want to cry because I feel that I will never get caught up, and they are right there staring me in the face each and every day.

For the last few months I have been searching for a way to streamline everything into one system that I can easily manage. Ideally I wanted to add everything into my blackberry so that no matter where I was the information that I needed, whatever it is, would be at my fingertips. Plus if its one thing that I am constantly checking it is my cell phone. I have my email accounts linked in so I am always in the know about any important emails. But that’s just not enough. I need more than that because the truth is that I have been late to or missed so many appointments or paid our bills late (just by one day because the due date slipped my mind), and these are just a couple examples of things that have gotten out of control. Way out of control. Quite frankly its driving my husband crazy and he feels powerless to help me because he just wouldn't have a clue as to where to begin

When I was asked by The Mom Bloggers Club if I was interested in reviewing a new organizational system I was more than excited to see what it was about. I am tired of being that mom that doesn’t have a clue what’s going on and dying to be that put together, power mom that has it all in place. A modern day Donna Reed is my vision. So I jumped in headfirst to see what CasaBlast was all about and if it could help me, and my family, get organized.

How Casablast Works

Once you sign up for a free account, CasaBlast assigns your family a phone number that is linked to your CasaBlast family account. This phone number enables you to access FamilyBlast, is a powerful new tool that allows you to communicate with the entire family at once. It is also an online Voicemail solution and has a shared family calendar and online to-do list that is easily accessible by any family member from anywhere, including on the go.

The Family Dashboard is a "tile-based" user experience that alerts the family of new messages and critical reminders for upcoming events. To me it resembles an online version of a family message board with post it notes, important dates and messages.

Setting up a family profile is easy. Enter in each family member's name and mobile phone. Each member is assigned a different color from the other. Then have each family member save the CasaBlast assigned family phone number to their phone. This will make it easier to recognize where the messages are coming from as well as knowing how to call and leave messages on the voicemail for other family members through the FamilyBlast.

Why CasaBlast Works For Me

In my case, I have three small children, none of whom have access to a cell phone - yet. My husband only checks his phone three times a day: before work, lunch time and after work. So primarily the CasaBlast system is for my own personal use as well as being able to blast reminders for my husband as needed. I could even add my mom to the list of family members but she gets a little baffled by text messages so for now I will be keeping the system just for myself.

As I mentioned earlier, I have tons of sticky notes and To-Do lists all over the place. I can now streamline my lists into the To Do section of the CasaBlast program. I can make as many or as few lists as I need, including grocery lists. Then because I like the visual reminder I can print them up and post them to my workspace. I can also send them to my blackberry which I love! That way even when I am on the go I can check the list to see if there is anything I need to do en route, like making an important phone call, dropping by the bank, etc...

I think that for me the most useful, and in my case money saving, feature is the event calendar. Here I can add in all of my appointments for myself and the kids, which is awesome. I am always losing those little cards that the doctors office give you and I always end up calling to find out when an appointment is scheduled for. Sometimes by the time I remember its too late and the appointment is long past.

Not only do I forget important appointment dates but also when my bill payment due dates are. I usually know when they are but then I get distracted by one responsibility or another and I will forget to pay them on the due date. Usually I miss it by one day or two at most - sometimes even only by a few hours. Of course we all know that if you miss a payment hefty late fees are imposed. I can't tell you how many times I have not been able to get the late fees removed and got stuck paying for my absentmindedness. Using CasaBlast I can set up the due dates for all of my bills and a reminder will be sent to not only my cell phone but my husband's. This way if for some reason I forget to pay it after I received my reminder he will know about it and also think to ask me if I have paid the bill or not. I really like the fact that it gets my husband involved with paying our bills. Usually the entire task falls to me so I think that these reminders will help for him to see just how much I really have to juggle on a daily basis to keep this family running smoothly.

Wordless/Wordful Wednesday - The Easter Bunny Came Early!

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

We have a little bunny that hops around our neighborhood. The kids in the neighborhood call him Oreo. Cute, huh? I went out early one morning and to my surprise Oreo was on our doorstep! So naturally I ran for my camera. Unfortunately Oreo ran too. I caught this one picture of him before he hopped away in fear to Tammy's Two Cent's house. I almost ran over there to get a better picture but then I wondered how it might look to the other neighbors that I was taking pictures in front of my neighbor's front porch. I didn't want to look like a Peeping Tom!

For more Wordful Wednesday check out Seven Clown Circus.

I Love This Cute Elephant Shape Sorter from Ebeanstock!

10:16 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Its not a secret that my kids have developmental issues. I shared on more than one occasion that their sensory, speech, gross and fine motor issues have presented challenges in our household. Learning to work with them has been the key and part of that work is finding toys that aid in their developmental growth.

Ebeanstalk is a website dedicated to selecting great toys for 1 year olds and toys for 2 year olds. They have a team of moms and a team of child experts that help them pick out toys by age, so you can be sure your child gets toys that have been specifically matched to his or her age!

I love their concept of matching the toy to the developmental stage and the age of the child. They have a team of experts that you can ask questions to as well to help pick out the perfect toy for a child with any developmental struggle, regardless of age. Truly a wonderful site for parents of children with developmental delays.

Recently Ebeanstock sent me a Jumbo Shape Sorter created by infantino. It is so darling! It is the shape of an elephant - trunk to tail. The tummy spins around by turning the tail and has openings for five different shapes for sorting. The bright colors and easy to sort shapes make this toy so fun for any little person. Infact, its designed for 12 months plus but my nearly five year old son couldn't resist joining in on the fun. Below are the pictures of my little guy who is 20 months old and his big brother playing nicely together with the Jumbo Shape Sorter.

They both enjoyed playing with this for at least twenty minutes before the little one starting throwing the shapes at me. Throwing toys is his favorite pastime so I was pretty impressed that he waited that long before he started hucking the pieces at me. He wasn't much interested in trying to put the toys in the designated spots but loved to stuff them up the trunk instead. All though it was probably pretty difficult to try to sort while big brother was spinning the sorter all willy nilly. Anyhow, I think that this shape sorter is super cute and great toy for any child. Definite thumbs up in my book!

Manic Monday! An Ode to No More Poopy Flu!

12:27 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Last week I was worthless. I admit, I sucked. I was laid out on the couch all week with a poopy stomach flu - thanks to my darling boys that passed it around to each other and then to me. On the bright side I have lost three pounds in one week from just laying on the couch. The down side is that I am so super duper behind on posting my reviews and giveaways that I need to man up and get as many as I can done this week.

This in itself will pose a couple of problems because my week is a little hectic. In fact, this week is gonna be crazy - not the good kind. For several reasons.

The first being that my parents are coming in to town today. They will be staying with us for the next three weeks or so. Its one of those things that is a blessing and a curse all at the same time. I love my parents but living with them - well I grew out of that by the time I was 18. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy their company. It can be challenging though for us to live together simply because we have two completely different lifestyles. We eat late lunch, late dinner and have a late bedtime. They get up at the crack of dawn and are in bed by 8. My mom tries to constantly keep a happy medium between me and my dad but something always goes awry. Plus my dad isn't great about sharing his TV time, computer time or dinner time so its sometimes its like constant competition between my dad and the boys, which is sad considering the age difference. Either way, I am always happy when they are here and it will be great to see them. Not to mention I think that things will go much more smoothly from now on because I think that this is the last time that my parents will be having an extended stay.

My parents just purchased a manufactured home, about 80 miles north of us, but either way they have a place to call their own. They are in town to get it all taken care of and make plans for it so that when they come back in the summer it will be good to go. Their plan is to stay with me only a couple nights here and there but mainly live in the manufactured home when they visit from AZ. I love it, because they are planning to stay there for 4-6 months out of the year so I will get to see them more often.

Anyways, back to me and what else is crazy this week. So parents coming today and on Tuesday I have to have three skin biopsies. Yay. Two on my scalp and one on my arm. They assure me that it won't hurt but I'm pretty sure that they were kidding. After all they will be shooting my head and arm up with novacane and then removing parts of my body. Why am I doing this you ask? Well, two reasons. The first is that my head is having some serious issues. I have been losing hair like crazy for the last year and a half. If it continues at this rate I will be bald by the time I reach 35. Bald is not such a hot look for me. I am hoping that I can figure out what the cause is and start the process of growing it back in. My arm biopsy is for skin cancer. I have some freckles there that stopped looking like cute little freckles quite awhile ago and now look like a blob of brown all mushed together. Hopefully through all this pain I will find the cure for baldness and end up with just being told that the freckle oddity isn't anything to be worried about. So, keep your fingers crossed for me.

Later that afternoon I have a conference with Benji's preschool teachers. That should be fun as its right after my biopsies and who the heck knows what my head will look like after they take off two chunks of it. On Thursday I have to get Benji to speech therapy and then its off to another conference but for my first grader. That should be a breeze, luckily Oscar is doing awesome in class. Oh and did I mention that Benji has no preschool this week at all and Oscar has half days every day this week? Combined with my parents its gonna be a full house. Hopefully I can lock myself in my room and get some blogging done!

Now for the finally, Benji's birthday party is on Sunday. I work all day Saturday so I have to make sure that everything is ready to go on Friday. Oh crap! I just realized that I forgot to order the cake! Okay, I better get on that before I forget yet again and my poor son has no cake to celebrate his fifth birthday. While I'm at it I might want to buy him a present or two also. This mom is really on top her game!

Well, I better go. I have no time and way too many things to get done to be just hanging out and blabbing about it. Let's pray that the organizational Gods will be smiling down on me this week!

Don't Forget to Send in Your 2010 Census Forms

12:05 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Its time for the 2010 Census and I just got my forms this week. I can't even remember the last census that I filled out, when was the last census anyways? I have to say that I am a little disturbed that I have to fill out that the race of my children is other - why isn't their a biracial check box? Anyways, I digress. Did you know that it is against the law if you don't return your census forms? So this is my personal PSA to remind you to fill out and return your forms. Feel free to post this video and spread the word to remind others to return their forms too.

Aloha Friday - The Flu - Eww!

Do you get flu shots?

I have been down and out with the flu this week. Little Oscar had it last week and poor Benji caught it twice. Emilio woke up with the crud this morning. I never get flu shots but I get them for my kids. Apparently for this go round it doesn't seem like its making a difference if you have a flu shot or not. So far, the only one not affected by this bug is my husband. Hopefully I will be back up to my usual blogginess next week.

Video Thursday - Check Tammy's Two Cents Supah's Survivor Video! - I'm in it - not really

I would love if you want to help spread the word about Video Thursday and participate. Just grab the Video Thursday button on my sidebar and post one of your favorite videos, either personal or one circulating around the web. Don't forget to link up so I can check out your video!

Do you have a great video that you would like me to feature on Video Thursday? I want to see them! Send me an email that includes your name, your video find, your blog and you can be featured on Video Thursday! Don't have blog? That's okay just send me your video if you want to share just because. Videos can be something hilarious you came across on the internet or a personal one that you want to share with the world.

Okay so I'm not in Tammy's video - but she is my next door neighbor so my car and my garbage can are! Her Survivor challenge this week was to scare someone and I loved the video she made trying to scare her kids when they came home from school. I don't want to spoil it so you should watch it. It was funny when Oscar and I were watching it because we all we notice in the one shot before the bus is that we are the only one on the street with our garbage can out. I was just telling Tammy that morning after the kids went to school that I am the only one that leaves it out until my husband comes home. Yup, I don't touch nasty garbage cans - or recycle containers either. That's how I roll. I figure I wash my hands enough between taking care of three kids all day and cleaning up after them, do I really need yet another reason to dry out my poor little hands? Besides, call me sexist but the garbage is a man's job. I know, Betty Friedan is rolling over in her grave.

Anyways, enjoy Tammy's video challenge and then head over and check out all the other "scares" for Supah's Survivor challenge

Wordless Wednesday - Happy Anniversary!....and St. Patricks Day!

9:13 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

My parents were married on St. Patrick's Day in 1973. They have been happily married now for exactly 37 years. So - I tried to find a picture of my parents together but I guess I suck because the best one I could find was this one taken four and a half years ago at Benji's Baptism. The Father in the middle is who married Oscar and I and he has performed all of our baptisms for us. Anyways, Happy Anniversary/St. Patrick's Day Mom and Dad! For your anniversary present I promise to take more current pictures of you - sheesh!

Thank You Tropicana For a Great Massage From Massage Envy!

8:07 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

As I mentioned before, I was chosen to be a Tropicana Juicy Insider. For a quick recap just in case you missed that post, I will sum up the Tropicana Juicy Rewards program for you. Tropicana wants to reward its customers by offering fabulous discounts for family activities, shopping and other services just by simply purchasing any half gallon of Tropicana. Each half gallon has a redeemable code that is worth anywhere from 1-3 points. Earn points and redeem them for awesome discounts. Its super easy, fun and affordable. Offers are redeemable at the 1-9 point level and savings are anywhere from $5 - $15, if not more depending upon the discount option that you choose. Its a wonderful program and the discounts earned more than pay for the carton of Tropicana, so its like added fun for free!

As part of my responsibilities as a Juicy Insider I get to redeem my points and then share with all of you my experience with the program. I could have spent some of my points on going to the zoo or the local museum, but instead I decided that it was time to focus on me for a change. I needed a little me time and I think that we all can agree its easier to take it and spend the money when you know that you are receiving a great deal. Which is why I chose to spend my first redemption on a introductory massage at Massage Envy.

I used to love getting professional massages when I was younger. Of course, I didn't have three kids and a husband at the time so I could go whenever I pleased and didn't have to worry about how much money I was spending because like most twenty year olds, I wasn't on a budget. Nowadays a great massage has been on my "To Do" list for the last two years. That's right, I said TWO YEARS. It is has been really hard financially to justify going out and getting a massage for myself. When you are pinching pennies a massage just isn't in the top ten of need to have items when you are planning your weekly or monthly budget.

I had secretly been carrying around the Massage Envy introductory coupon specials in my wallet for over a year. I know how expensive a good massage can be and the introductory offer for a one hour at $39 is a total steal. My husband had even given me the okay on spending the money but something else always came up that was more important at the time so I never had the chance to go. When I found out that I could get a 10% discount off a hour and a half massage session at Massage Envy by redeeming only two of my Tropicana points - I was sold.

It was really easy to redeem my points to get my coupon too. After I searched the offers available that were closest to my zip code I found the Massage Envy offers. I clicked on the 10% off an Introductory 1 1/2 hour massage session. On that page it explained what was included in the offer as well as the expiration date of the coupon and how many points the reward was worth. This reward option was worth two points, I clicked on the Get Reward button and it brought up the next page that prompted me to make sure that my printer was ready to go. You only have one shot to print the coupon so making sure that your printer is ready to go is a must. I printed the coupon and then I was off to schedule my appointment.

When I called to make the appointment the receptionist was very polite and helpful. She asked me all the right questions, to ensure that I would be with a masseuse that fit my needs. She also asked me if I was going to be using any coupons and was really excited when I told her that I would be using my Tropicana Juicy Rewards discount. She told me that I would be the first one at their location to take advantage of the Juicy Rewards discount. I thought that it was really cool that the employees at Massage Envy were informed about the program and excited to see who would be using it. I made my appointment for Friday the 12th at 7:30. I loved the fact that they are open so late because my husband doesn't get home from work usually until seven so having the flexibility to schedule around his work hours was really important.

When I arrived for my appointment I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the whole place was. After filling out my initial paperwork, I was given a tour of the rooms and was informed all about what they offer their clients. I took a seat in the client lounge and anxiously awaited meeting my masseuse and getting down to business!

Within about five minutes my masseuse, Gretchen, came out to introduce herself. She was super nice and made me feel comfortable right away. This is a very important aspect of getting a massage from someone that you have never met before. She asked me few quick questions about my massage needs and then left me alone so that I could get undressed. If you have never had a professional massage before you might not realize that they expect you to get completely naked, they actually prefer no underwear. For a prudish gal like myself, this was a hard concept to grasp when I was younger. However, since becoming a mom and having three separate hospital experiences where everyone in the flipping hospital has seen me naked, I am much less shy when it comes to these types of things. So, I got naked and slipped under the covers and awaited my much needed massage.

Gretchen was so great! The first thing I told her was that she had to keep talking to me during the massage. I have had others that are silent and its just uncomfortable, for me, anyways. I was up all night long the night before with a sick kid and was operating on zero sleep so my biggest fear was that I would fall asleep during the massage and not have a chance to enjoy it. I made it very clear to Gretchen that I needed to be awake and enjoy every minute of my 80 minute massage. After all, I have waited two years to get a professional massage so I was bound and determined to enjoy the experience.

During the massage Gretchen gave me lots of great tips that I could implement at home for easing muscle pain. She showed me some stretches that I could do with the help of my husband too. I will admit that because my muscles were so tight not all of my massage was enjoyable. Gretchen had to work hard at loosening them up so at times it was quite painful. But the good kind of pain, like after you work out and your muscles are sore the next day type of painful. I didn't realize that all of the muscles in your low back area are tied right into the muscles surrounding your head and neck, so if one area is having problems the other will too. This totally explains why my neck and shoulders hurt so much all the time, which is all the more reason to get regular massages if you ask me. I would love to get to a point where they are not in such bad shape.

The 80 minutes flew on by and before I knew it my massage was over. I had such a good time talking with Gretchen and I knew that after my experience I would definitely be back. Once I was all dressed it came time to check out and use my 10% off coupon. For an introductory 1.5 hour massage the normal cost is $57 plus tax, so about $61.84, which in itself is a fantastic deal. My price total after taxes and the Juicy Rewards Discount was $51.34, a savings of over $10! Which is great because I was able to use that $10 towards my tip for Gretchen, because just like any spa service you receive a tip is a customary thank you. I was so pleased with my experience that I made one more appointment for another one hour massage at a rate of only $39 in two weeks. I also decided that after that appointment I will sign up for the monthly massage membership and treat myself once a month. This hard working mom deserves it - don't you?

Anyways, going to Massage Envy would probably still be on my "To Do" list had it not been for the added discount offered by Tropicana's Juicy Rewards. I am so glad that I was able to receive a discount for something that I have been longing to do for quite sometime.

I am urging you to check out Tropicana and their Juicy Rewards for yourself. See what is available in your area and get some great discounts for things that you may all ready purchase. There is nothing I like better than getting a discount for something that I would have bought even if there wasn't a discount available. Read below to learn how to start collecting points now.

Oh My Aching Back! Tips for Alleviating Back and Neck Pain

3:18 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I don't know about you but after having three kids and some serious weight gain, my back is killing me! I have had low back pain for several years. In the last five years it has crept up my back and around my neck and shoulders. I am constantly sore. There are a few things that I have found that seem to alleviate the pain so I thought that I would share them with you just in case you suffer from back pain as I do.

The first tip that I would suggest is to drink a ton of water. I have noticed that when I drink water it helps loosen up the muscles and they are not as tight. Drinking water is a struggle for me because I don't really love the taste of it and I seem to have a tough time remembering to drink it. I get so busy during the day that thirst is usually the last thing on my mind. I don't drink enough of anything. Period. I have made the conscious decision to drink water daily for many reasons, not just for back pain, as I strive to achieve living a healthier lifestyle. For taste I use Crystal Light On the Go Lemonade,10 Count box, 1.4-Ounce Unit (Pack of 6) and that makes it tastier for me.

I have also learned that having a very comfortable pillow whenever I sleep or rest will help tremendously. There are several pillows that are specifically designed for comfort like an orthopedic pillow or neck pain pillow. These pillows are created to help support the head and neck muscles properly when you are sleeping. You should consult your doctor and discuss which pillow type - quality fiber, foam or aqua core, they feel is the right one to help you with your back pain treatment plan.

Getting regular chiropractic care will help align the spine. I have strayed away from chiropractors in the last couple of years because I don't really like the new age methods that many chiropractors are practicing these days. Call me old fashioned but I want a guy to crack my back in a private room, free of onlookers, and then give me a sheet with exercises I can do in the privacy of my own home. Lately all I can find are the guys that are into group table sessions and exercises all in one. As soon as a I find a place that is right for me I will be going back to getting regular chiropractic care. Luckily for us, my husband's insurance covers a huge allowance for chiropractic care and we never have any out of pocket costs for regular exams and visits.

Just this last week I started going to Massage Envy and getting full body massages to help with the pain. Its amazing how much pain can be released when you have an experienced masseuse stretching and working out the muscles. I also learned that much of the back pain in my low back is tied in with the neck and shoulder pain that I have. Apparently the large muscle groups start at the bottom of the spine and go all the way up to your head. So, if your lower back is having difficulty than its most likely that your neck will be too. It was really nice having a professional explain how the different muscle groups work together. Let me tell you, I will gladly pay for a professional massage instead of receiving the wimpy, lame back rub that I always get from my husband. Needless to say, I am for getting a good massage, so much so that I have decided to get treat myself and get one every single month. For more details about my massage experience and how I received a discount for an 80 minute massage read my post on Monday.

I hope that these tips will help you as they have helped me. If you have any tips that work for you I would love to hear them.

Aloha Friday - Favorite Childhood Memory

9:13 PM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

Aloha Fridays are brought to you by Kailani from An Island Life. Over there in Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. So, for Aloha Friday, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Answer my question and put one of your own up on your blog. Link up and check out other blogs that participate at An Island Life.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

My favorite childhood memory is playing with my grandpa. He was a ton of fun to be around and he made the time to make me feel special, when no one else did. He took me swimming, hiking and to all the local playgrounds. I remember one summer there was a black lab that was so sweet, she was just roaming around the neighborhood all by herself. He told me to give her a name, which I glady did, I called her Josephine. We hopped in the car and took Josephine to the park and played with her all day. At the end of the day we came back to his house and then Josephine wandered off. I was so sad to see her go but she had to. My grandma was so mad that my grandpa let me play with a strange dog all day - name it, and then try to keep it. She insisted that the dog had an owner and it was wrong of us to take her to the park and play. I remember my grandpa fighting back saying that we didn't do anything wrong but have a good time. I loved playing with her, but I did have a family dog at home so I knew that Josephine must have had a family that loved her like I loved my dog. It was a fun adventure that day though at my grandparents house!

I started watching this new show on NBC called The Marriage Ref. It is soooo damn funny! Jerry Seinfeld is a genius for creating this show. There is nothing funnier than watching real life husband and wife couples argue about silly stuff. Each marriage is different thus the arguments are too. What makes it work is that there are celebrity guests on the panel that weigh out the pros and cons of the argument for the husband or the wife. They vote and then the Ref will decide who wins the argument, the husband or the wife. I think that I am going to apply for this show - I'm pretty sure that Oscar and I have some great arguments that need a referee.

I laughed my ass off watching it, so just in case you missed the first two episodes I have them here for you to watch. I would love to know what you think about this show!

Wordless Wednesday - Sweet Dreams

12:01 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

I was blogging one night and turned around to find this behind me. Two tuckered out dudes. There was a better picture I was trying to take with Emilio's foot right in front of Daddy's nose! I tried to snap it but hubby woke up right before I was going to get a close up. It would have been so funny too!

Kiss Me I'm Irish! Kissably Soft Lips Just In Time for St. Patrick's Day - Softlips Review and Giveaway

12:00 AM Posted by Kimberly@PrettyPinkMomma

With St. Patrick's Day coming upon us quickly, I found it only fitting to talk about getting your lips in shape for all the Irish fun! Seriously, how many "Kiss me I'm Irish" stuff do you see around when your out swigging, or chugging, down your pint of Guinness?

I don't know about you, but at certain points during the winter season I get some serious chapped lips sometimes. No one wants to kiss chapped lips! Ewww! I don't like using the regular run of the mill chapsticks either because the textures and flavors just seem funky to me. I always do try to keep some kind of lip protectant on me at all times for two reasons. The first is that I can't stand dry lips, its just gross. The second is that its part of my beauty regimen before I apply any kind of lipgloss or lipstick. It seems to make all the difference in the application process.

Recently I was given the opportunity to review the Winter collection of Softlips. I was more than thrilled because I used to use Softlips regularly when I was a preteen and throughout highschool. I'm not sure why I stopped using it. I think it was due to my early twenties when I lived for trying out new lip gloss daily. I don't know why but Softlips always brings back memories of seventh grade for me. There were two things that any girl who was even remotely popular had to possess, Malibu Musk being one and Softlips being the other. I think every single girl in my middle school used Softlips. Oh, and the Malibu Musk - that led to one very smelly girls locker room! I am so glad, and I'm sure that everyone else in my family was too, that Malibu Musk was out of style by the eighth grade!

Softlips, however, has stayed popular throughout the decades. I am not really surprised. It is wonderful product. When I used Softlips again for the first time in several years the reason why I loved it so much came flooding back to me. It just feels good on my lips, plain and simple. The taste is subtle and not overwhelming, which for me is very important. Softlips coats my lips and it doesn't feel waxy like regular chapsticks feel. There are several different flavors to choose from too. I am so loving the Sugar Cookie flavor right now. The size of each little tube is perfect too. I can keep it in my pocket and its hardly noticeable. I am definitely a Softlips fan for life.
